Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (right shoulder) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Palmer is leaving on Friday to receive treatment in Denver, which may indicate that he had a setback after making “significant progress.” At this point, it appears unlikely that he’ll be able to start Week 6, but we should know more this weekend. Drew Stanton is recovering from a concussion, so the Cards might be forced to start Logan Thomas if Palmer or Stanton can't play.

Greg Roskopf, the founder and CEO of Muscle Activation Techniques, made "significant progress" during a weekend of treatment on Cardinals QB Carson Palmer, who has been out since Week 2 with the nerve issue.

There was enough improvement to allow 40 to 50 passes on Tuesday. Palmer had no setbacks and threw more during Cardinals practice on Wednesday. How Palmer reacts to that latest session will go a long way in determining if he returns to action when the Cardinals host the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: 

Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald would benefit from Palmer's return. Drew Stanton is recovering from a concussion, so the Cards might be forced to start Logan Thomas if Palmer or Stanton can't play.

With Carson Palmer still in a holding pattern, waiting for some clarity on his injured shoulder, and Drew Stanton going through concussion protocol, the Cardinals are in the market for some quarterback depth.

With some free space on the practice squad, they've signed former Steelers, Ravens, Bills and Eagles quarterback Dennis Dixon. The 29-year-old Oregon product spent time with Arizona coach Bruce Arians in Pittsburgh and knows how to run his system if need be.

Cards QB Drew Stanton is recovering from a concussion and the nerve issue in Carson Palmer’s shoulder has yet to fully resolve itself, leaving the team with rookie Logan Thomas as their only healthy quarterback. On Monday, coach Bruce Arians said that the team expects one of the veterans to be healthy enough to start this week even if he isn’t sure which one it will be.

“We feel like one of those two will be back,” Arians said, via the Arizona Republic. “If not, then obviously we have to move on to door Number 2 and get somebody in to back up Logan Thomas.”

Fantasy Impact: 

The story went on to say that Palmer spent the weekend in Denver seeing a specialist and thinks they may have found something to solve the problem of his shoulder. The story added that he still needs to go through a full practice before Arians will give him the green light to play in a game. There’s no guarantee that will happen given the nature of the injury. It's a very nice matchup against the Redskins defense.
