Week 3 at Cleveland Browns
Diontae Johnson has earned the new contract he signed in the offseason, going off the first two weeks. He has 22 targets which has produced 13 receptions. Where his stock has taken a hit is he only has 122 receiving yards. However, he isn't the problem. The Steelers' offense refuses to throw downfield and they have only scored two offensive touchdowns in two games. Unless Pittsburgh changes their philosophy, Johnson will reach his ceiling.
The Steelers face the Browns on Thursday night. Cleveland ranks 10th in aFPA to wide receivers so an ineffective offense going against an above-average defense doesn't bode well for Pittsburgh. Johnson had mixed results in the two meetings with the Browns last season but did have a combined 26 targets.
Johnson ranks a low-end WR2 for Week 3. The targets are encouraging and should continue, but there is plenty of doubt in the Pittsburgh quarterback and offensive coordinator positions.
