Scouting report

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Detroit Lions
Dawson Knox set season-highs with seven targets producing seven receptions for 70 yards. He didn't score a touchdown, but everything else was clicking for the tight end. Some managers might have given up on him, but he has been much more valuable in fantasy the last couple weeks.

Knox faces the Lions who are ranked 30th in aFPA to tight ends. With the favorable matchup in the passing game, we feel the Bills will throw the ball more than they did last week so expect Knox to be a part of that. Start him Thanksgiving Day as a solid TE1.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Cleveland Browns
Dawson Knox had one of his best games of the season with season-highs in targets (6), receptions (4) and receiving yardage (57). That's not saying much as he has been disappointing so far, but if the numbers from last week start coming in on a regular basis, he will look more like the tight end most were expecting in the preseason.

Knox faces the Browns who are ranked 13th in aFPA to tight ends. Last week was a good sign for him and if he can continue to put up those numbers, he can be helpful down the stretch to fantasy managers. We want to see more games like this so for now he ranks as a high-end TE2 for Week 11, but his stock could be rising.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Minnesota Vikings
Dawson Knox did not get into the end zone this past Sunday after scoring the previous two games. Combine that with his performance of three receptions for 24 yards, and he has continued to be somewhat of a disappointment in 2022.

Knox faces the Vikings who are ranked 22nd in aFPA to tight ends. Even with a favorable matchup, QB Josh Allen might not be available for Sunday because of an elbow issue. Even if he plays, Knox continues to rank a TE2 and should stay on your bench for Week 10.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at New York Jets
Dawson Knox had only two receptions for 10 yards but one was his second touchdown of the season in as many weeks. If you remember, he was a touchdown machine in 2021 which led to him being drafted as a TE1 but he has not lived up to those expectations.

Knox faces the Jets and wasn't too effective in the two meetings last season. New York is ranked 16th in aFPA to tight ends this season.

Knox still retains his TE2 ranking this week. The touchdowns are helping move him up the list but we still need to see more before we are convinced he is back to last year's form.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Green Bay Packers
The good news is Dawson Knox got into the end zone for the first time this season. However, his numbers are still lacking behind his 2021 production. He is averaging three receptions per game and just under 50 yards. But the consistency in the red zone is what elevated him last season to a TE1.

Knox faces Green Bay who is ranked 19th in aFPA to tight ends. Even with a slightly favorable matchup, he still is not getting good enough numbers to warrant a start this week. He is rated a low-end TE2 so keep Knox on the bench for Week 8.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Kansas City Chiefs
After missing the Steelers game last week. Dawson Knox has been practicing although limited. He still is questionable for Sunday so keep an eye on the injury report and actives.

If he does play. he faces Kansas City who is ranked 20th in aFPA to tight ends. Knox has been disappointing so far and has been pushed to the bench in fantasy for most owners. That is the case this week as well. He ranks a TE2 so don't put him in your starting lineup. We need to see the production return to the 2021 level.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Dawson Knox had a season-high for targets last Sunday (6), but that seems like it should be his floor, not his ceiling. It only produced 40 receiving yards and he still doesn't have a touchdown this season.

Knox will face the Steelers who are ranked 19th in aFPA to tight ends. This is a favorable matchup, but we would like to see more targets go his way.

Keep Knox on the bench for Week 5 as he only ranks as a TE2. It has been a disappointing season so far for anyone who has him as their No. 1 tight end.
