Scouting report

NYG WR Corey Washington - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Corey Washington vs. Indianapolis
Corey Washington is getting snaps, but he’s not catching passes and until his size and snaps turn into production, it’s hard to recommend adding him to your fantasy roster. His size is nice, but the connection just isn’t happening yet and he should remain on waivers.

NYG WR Corey Washington - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

strong>Week 4 – Corey Washington vs. Washington
Corey Washington hasn’t caught a pass yet this season. While he has the size to be a short yardage force, his lack of production makes him a guy that fantasy owners should leave on waivers until he shows he’s going to become an active part of the offense.

NYG WR Corey Washington - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 – Corey Washington vs. Houston
Corey Washington hasn’t caught a pass yet, but he’s run down field a few times and jumped up in the air in the red zone on at least one occasion in Detroit, so he should still be monitored as a big, physical receiver with a chance to grow in a passing offense that needs somebody to grow. He’s not worth a fantasy roster spot at this time though until he actually wins a role in the offense and puts up some numbers.

NYG WR Corey Washington - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 – Corey Washington vs. Arizona
Corey Washington got some red zone looks last week against the Lions, but ultimately didn’t end up catching any passes. He’s a big target who the Giants are trying to get involved in the passing game, but he’s still pretty raw and has other players to contend with. Washington is a name worth knowing, but he’s not valuable enough to warrant adding to your fantasy roster just yet.

NYG WR Corey Washington - Week 1, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 – Corey Washington vs. Detroit
Small school undrafted rookie Corey Washington out of Newberry College had a nice preseason, and after veteran Mario Manningham was placed on IR, he secured a roster spot. He’ll be hanging around the back end of the depth chart however, although he brings size to the position standing at 6’4. The rest of the Giants receivers are on the shorter side, giving Washington a little bit of a boost as far as upside goes.

Still, he’s a longshot to make a big impact early, and he’s not worth rostering at this point. Keep an eye on his snap count and on the players in front of him on the depth chart, such as Rueben Randle. If someone falters, Washington might be given a shot.
