Colts TE Coby Fleener (head) took limited practice reps Wednesday. We are not sure if Fleener suffered a concussion, but the fact that he's practicing indicates that he is on track to play in Week 5.

While TE Coby Fleener’s been streaky in the early stages of his first camp, I’m told Dwayne Allen’s steadily been the same guy I’ve been watching over the last couple of days. He’s thick (6-foot-3, 255 pounds), athletic and versatile. He’s playing the “F” spot in the offense of Bruce Arians, a “move” tight end who can line up anywhere, shift anywhere, block as needed and get open to show off his quality hands and run with the ball.

It’s probably too gushing a review off a small sample, but even this cynic is having trouble resisting …

Allen looks like he was built for this offense.

Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians on the blocking of TE Coby Fleener:

“He’s solid. He’s a really good blocker on the offensive line. We need to get him better as a receiver. But he’s making progress.”

Fantasy Impact: 

Arians' comments about his receiving are worrisome from a fantasy perspective. If Fleener isn't ready to go as a receiver, then he probably won't make much of an impact in 2012. Stay tuned.

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was sharp Sunday, completing 27-of-32 passes with two interceptions (one on a deflection) in 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 work. There were few obvious errors, only one dropped pass.

Luck spread the ball around. His 27 completions were shared by Austin Collie (seven), Donnie Avery (seven), Reggie Wayne (five), Coby Fleener (four) and Dwayne Allen (four).
