DEN RB C.J. Anderson - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

In the loss at Washington last Sunday, C.J. Anderson was the lone Broncos fantasy player worth starting. On 16 rushes, he collected 88 yards and scored a TD and a two-point conversion. In addition, he caught 7 passes for 45 yards. Anderson continues to be consistent over the past month, reaching over 100 total yards in three of the past four weeks. He led the Broncos with 78 rushing yards in the loss to the Chiefs in October and needs just 54 yards to record his first 1,000-yard season.

DEN RB C.J. Anderson - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Washington

In the come-from-behind win over the Colts last Thursday, C.J. Anderson had his best game of the season. He plowed through the Colts defense for 158 yards on a season-high 30 carries. While he hasn’t scored since mid-November, Anderson continues to be the featured back and may again be in for a heavy workload regardless of which QB is under center. He makes for an RB2 play against the No. 28 ranked defense at stopping the run.

DEN RB C.J. Anderson - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Indianapolis Colts

As a team, the Broncos averaged just 2.4 yards per carry last week versus the Jets. Somehow, C.J. Anderson’s average was less than that (2.2 yards per rush) in the win, as he carried the rock 22 times for 48 yards and he caught 2 passes for 25 yards. He nearly scored a TD, something he hasn’t done for three straight weeks now, but lost out on a give to the fullback Andy Janovich. The 22 carries were the most Anderson had seen since Week 2, as he’s definitely been given the ball more since Bill Musgrave took over as offensive coordinator. The Colts are No. 23 at stopping the run, making Anderson again a low-end RB2 option.

DEN RB C.J. Anderson - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. New York Jets

Even though the Broncos were again behind for much of the game versus Miami last week, C.J. Anderson had his best outing since Week 4. He carried the ball 15 times for 67 yards and caught 4 passes for 43 yards. The 110 total yards were his highest since he combined for 112 yards in Week 4 versus the Raiders, the last time Denver won. The 15 rushing attempts were Anderson's most since Week 8 versus the Chiefs, where he also carried the ball 15 times. If he remains Denver's No. 1 RB, he is a FLEX play this week in a good matchup against a Jets team allowing 120 rushing yards per game.

DEN RB C.J. Anderson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Miami Dolphins

Last week in the loss at Oakland last Sunday, C.J. Anderson carried the ball just 5 times for 12 yards. The Broncos only ran for 59 yards and were once again behind early, so it’s uncertain if Anderson would’ve received more touches had the game been closer or if Devontae Booker will be the featured ball-carrier now that the team’s season is pretty much over. Miami is No. 24 against the run, but Anderson just isn’t seeing enough action for him to be anything more than a FLEX option at best.

DEN RB C.J. Anderson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Oakland Raiders

In the loss to the Bengals last Sunday, C.J. Anderson ran for 37 yards on 13 carries and scored his third TD of the season—his first since Week 2. He also caught 2 passes for 19 yards. Devontae Booker finished with more carries (14) and rushing yards (44) than Anderson and was also more productive in the passing game. Since his return in October, Booker has become a bigger part of the offense, a trend that likely will continue as the Broncos' season has fallen apart. In the win over Oakland in Week 4, Anderson carried the ball 20 times for 95 yards, but is a risky fantasy start with the recent offensive coaching and QB changes.

DEN RB C.J. Anderson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Once again the Broncos found themselves behind early to an opponent and had to abandon much of the ground game. In the loss to New England last Sunday night, C.J. Anderson was held to 54 yards on 10 rushing attempts. He has not scored since Week 2, which was also the only time he’s eclipsed 100 yards this season. Anderson is averaging only 41 rushing yards per game over the past five games, but will be facing a Cincinnati defense that gives up over 120 yards on the ground. With the Broncos’ offensive struggles, Anderson makes for an RB3/flex play.
