Scouting report

JAX RB Chris Ivory - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Ivory got 9 carries for 42 yards last week against the Jets and has at least 6 carries in each of Jacksonville's first four games. But Leonard Fournette is obviously the big dog and that doesn't leave a lot of scraps for Ivory. Ivory shouldn't be in your lineup, even as a flex play.

JAX RB Chris Ivory - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at N.Y. Jets

Chris Ivory had 6 carries for 17 yards for the second week in a row and added 2 receptions for 25 yards last week. Eight touches aren't enough to merit consideration for your lineup. He's nothing more than a fill-in for rookie Leonard Fournette.

JAX RB Chris Ivory - Week 17, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Detroit
Ivory got 14 carries for 55 yards and a score last week as backup T.J. Yeldon went down and is now on IR. But Ivory also is dealing with a hamstring injury and will be an iffy start this week because of it. You never know when those issues can crop up again. Check his Friday status to be sure if you must start him. The matchup with Indianapolis is a good one and it will be tempting to put Ivory in the lineup as a No. 2 back if he's ready to go.

JAX RB Chris Ivory - Week 16, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Tennessee
Ivory returned last week to get 10 carries for 44 yards, completely ruining any momentum T.J. Yeldon had built, as well. They'll likely continue to split carries under new head coach Doug Marrone, as the Jaguars try to determine who to move and who to keep going forward. It makes both Ivory and Yeldon no better than flex plays.

JAX RB Chris Ivory - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Buffalo
Ivory got 17 carries last week, which is nice, but he managed just 39 yards on the ground. He did have six receptions for 75 yards, which made it a very productive day. T.J. Yeldon is dealing with an ankle injury, which could really boost Ivory's value this week. Buffalo has a decent run defense but has given up 10 rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs this season. Ivory is a sneaky start this week as a No. 2 running back.

JAX RB Chris Ivory - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Detroit
After having his first 100-yard game, Ivory got just nine carries for 31 yards last week and two receptions for 10 yards as the Jags fell behind early, as usual. Detroit's run defense has been good this season - in part because the Lions are so easy to throw against. And that doesn't bode well for Ivory. T.J. Yeldon is probably the better choice out of Jacksonville's backfield this week. But who really knows?

JAX RB Chris Ivory - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Houston
Ivory got a season-best 18 carries last week and responded with 107 yards. He also had one catch but for no yards to go along with a fumble. But the usage was a good sign and perhaps we're starting to see a little bit of clarity in Jacksonville's run game. T.J. Yeldon served as more of a third-down back, getting just seven carries. The Texans are tough to throw against but have allowed eight rushing touchdowns to running backs. That makes Ivory the more valuable running back this week for Jacksonville in non-PPR leagues. But neither should probably used as anything more than a flex.
