NYG RB Andre Williams - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Andre Williams vs. San Francisco
Andre Williams had 15 touches and 38 yards last week, but he also scored a touchdown, putting together a decent stat line for fantasy owners. The return of starter Rashad Jennings from injury will massively affect Williams’ value, and while he still may get some change of pace touches and possibly even work in short yardage situations, he’s unlikely to remain a good fantasy option. We have him as a low end RB3 at best and fantasy owners should think of him as a handcuff only at this point.

NYG RB Andre Williams - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Andre Williams vs. Seattle

Andre Williams hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire as the starter in New York with Rashad Jennings injured, but he has continued to get a consistent workload, and last week he scored a touchdown. He only had 22 yards on 12 carries, but the score and a 24 yard reception helped him to a modest fantasy outing.

This week, Williams should continue to get a big workload against the Seahawks, but it’s risky to count on him as more than a low-end RB2 with the lack of production he’s exhibited thus far. The rookie is talented, but he’s a bruiser with limited upside, and the Seahawks have actually been pretty good against the run this year.

NYG RB Andre Williams - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Andre Williams vs. Indianapolis

Andre Williams looks to start again this week against the Colts with starter Rashad Jennings still ailing. Williams hasn’t done a ton since he took over the starting job in New York, but he continues to get touches. He had only 51 yards in Week 7 against the Cowboys, but touched the ball 18 times.

This week, Williams will face a Colts defense that has been middle of the road against the run, limiting yards but allowing touchdowns. He should get a full workload, making him a solid RB2/Flex option in all leagues and fantasy owners should keep him active as long as Jennings’ injury status doesn’t change.

NYG RB Andre Williams - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Andre Williams vs. Dallas

Andre Williams struggled against the Eagles on Sunday night, as the Giants were shut out and Williams was held to 3.6 yards per carry. Williams did get a full workload, finishing with 16 carries and 58 yards on the ground, but the low yards per carry average is concerning as it’s been prevalent so far this year with the young back.

Things won’t get any easier this week against the Cowboys. Dallas is middle of the road against the run so far this year, but the Eagles have given up tons of yards and that didn’t seem to help. The Cowboys kept the Seahawks offense mostly in check last week, and Williams is not Marshawn Lynch. Still, he’ll get a heavy workload which makes him a viable fantasy option, and he has the kind of talent to be a prolific bruiser in the NFL. Expect RB2 potential for the rookie.

NYG RB Andre Williams - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 – Andre Williams vs. Philadelphia

Andre Williams put up nice numbers in relief of the injured Rashad Jennings last week against the Falcons, finishing with 83 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. Owners would like to see his yards per carry average higher than 3.3, but it was still a nice line for the first year back.

Williams stands to get a lot of work this weekend against the Eagles and their 24th ranked rush defense. Jennings is unlikely to play, meaning another 20 plus touches is possible for Williams, and that makes him a nice fantasy start for owners seeking injury replacements amidst the rash of injuries that have decimated the running back position. He should be started in all leagues and we have him projected for RB1 totals in a nice matchup.

NYG RB Andre Williams - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 – Andre Williams vs. Atlanta

Andre Williams got some grind-the-clock carries last week against Washington as the Giants looked like two-time Super Bowl champions and destroyed their NFC East rival. He ended up with 15 carries, 66 yards, and a garbage time touchdown, and also averaged 4.4 yards per carry, culminating in easily his best outing as a pro.

This week, Williams faces a very vulnerable Atlanta defense, but the Falcons are likely to keep the score closer than Washington did a week ago, making a repeat performance unlikely. Still, Atlanta gave up nearly 250 yards on the ground to Minnesota’s pair of backup running backs on Sunday, so there’s some upside with Williams. Too risky to expect that from a clear RB2 on the team, so fantasy owners should look to someone more assured of getting starter carries.

NYG RB Andre Williams - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 – Andre Williams vs. Washington
Andre Williams continues to get spot duty behind Rashad Jennings, and he received six carries and gained 18 yards in the Giants’ win over the Texans on Sunday. He remains a backup and change of pace player however, as Jennings wound up with 34 touches and has run effectively, leaving little chance for Williams to suddenly assume the starting job, barring an injury. Against Washington this week, expect similar production from Williams, and his value remains as a handcuff to Jennings only.
