NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley exploded against Washington last week, gaining 189 yards on 22 carries and adding 90 yards on four receptions. He also caught a touchdown and rank another one in for an elite fantasy day. It was a good site for fantasy owners who have been frustrated with Barkley this year and his explosive last two games are sure to put him in the running for the top overall fantasy pick again next season.

The Eagles rank 12th in aFPA to opposing running backs, so they aren’t super easy to run against. However, Barkley should get a full workload once again and don’t be surprised if the Giants make a concerted effort to get him at least 89 yards on the ground so he can hit 1,000. He’s a must-start in all league formats and we have him ranked as a top-10 option.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Washington Redskins

Saquon Barkley had a great game last week in a win over the Dolphins. He carried the ball 24 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns, and he added four receptions for 31 receiving yards as well. Barkley has struggled in a nicked up season on a dreadful offense this year, but the team has given him a full workload throughout the season when he’s been healthy. That shouldn’t change over the final two games, despite the Giants having virtually nothing to play for.

Washington has been better against the pass than the run this year, ranking 24th in the league in aFPA to the running back position. Barkley should feast, as the Washington offense shouldn’t be able to force the Giants to abandon the run game Barkley should be active in all formats in what should be a nice matchup.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Miami Dolphins

Saquon Barkley struggled last week against the Eagles, gaining just 67 yards on 20 touches, including three receptions. The fact that he got 20 touches is still a good sign for him, however, and fantasy owners should be encouraged by a softer schedule the next couple of weeks.

This week, Barkley faces a Dolphins defense that ranks 21st in aFPA to opposing running backs, which should allow him to find room to operate. We have him as a top-five fantasy option in all league formats, just in time for the playoffs. Start him.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley rebounded a bit last week against the Packers, getting 22 touches, including three receptions for a total of 115 yards from scrimmage. Most notably, he averaged 4.4 yards per carry, his most since Week 2. Barkley has been trying to get back to his elite production on the ground, as he’s failed to gain 100 rushing yards in his past seven games. It’s a good thing he’s averaging 4.2 receptions and 32.3 receiving yards per game this season to help supplement his totals.

The Eagles rank 12th in aFPA to opposing running backs this year, so it won’t be super easy for Barkley to get back on track, but his workload and return to 100-plus yards from scrimmage a week ago provide some confidence in starting him anyway. He should continue to be a workhorse for the downtrodden Giants and should be active in all leagues.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Green Bay Packers

Saquon Barkley was better against the Bears last week than he was against the Jets in his previous game, but he was still held to 3.5 yards per carry and only 60 total yards from scrimmage. Barkley has struggled, but he’s still had 37 combined touches over his past two games, meaning he should be able to rebound before too long.

This week, Barkley goes up against a Packers defense that ranks 24th in aFPA to opposing running backs, giving him additional upside. Expect Barkley to get back to big-time numbers and we have him ranked as a top-10 option in what should be a good matchup.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Chicago Bears

Saquon Barkley was surprisingly shut down by the Jets before the bye last week. He gained only one yard on 13 carries! He did manage to add 30 yards on five receptions, partially salvaging his day in PPR leagues, but it was definitely disappointing for the second-year standout. Barkley has missed time with an ankle injury this year, but is averaging 19.1 touches per game and has 33 receptions, making him super valuable, even in a down year.

This week, expect better production against the Bears. Chicago has been dynamite against the pass, but they rank 22nd in aFPA to opposing running backs this year and just allowed 112 yards and two touchdowns to the Rams’ duo of backs a week ago. Barkley is a must-start every week regardless of matchup, and he should rebound this week in a good matchup that should feature a ball-control game plan.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at New York Jets

Despite a mere 28 yards on 14 carries against the Cowboys on Monday night, Saquon Barkley still scored pretty good fantasy points thanks to six receptions and 67 yards including a 65-yard catch and run where he nearly found the end zone. Barkley is an elite player at his position and his workload and versatility make him a must-start every game without hesitation.

This week, Barkley faces a Jets defense that ranks 15th in aFPA to opposing running backs and largely held the Dolphins running game at bay a week ago. Barkley is in a completely different class compared to most of the backs the Jets have faced, however, and he should be in line for a big day. It’ll help if the Giants can avoid playing from behind the entire game, a good chance with how bad the Jets have been on offense. Regardless of matchup, Barkley is an elite option in all league formats, but he has additional upside against the hapless Jets.
