Fantasy Football Sneaky Starts: Week 8

Dalton

As injuries pile up and the bye weeks continue, all but the luckiest fantasy owners will at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough -- a waiver wire or bench player who is capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

QUARTERBACKS

Andy Dalton, Bengals
Dalton is available in almost 85% of ESPN leagues, so he may be out there in your league if you need a spot start. The Seahawks are mediocre against QBs and Dalton has thrown four TDs in the last three games, while rushing for one more.
John Beck, Redskins
The Bills have given up the 6th-most Adjusted FP to QBs this year and Beck accounted for two TDs (one pass, one rush) against the Panthers in Week 7.
The game against the Saints was a disaster (67 yards, INT), but in the previous three games, Painter averaged 249 yards and 1.7 TDs. The Titans have given up the 8th-most Adjusted FP to QBs this season and the game is at home, so Painter should be able to play better in Week 8.
