NBA Player Prop Bets (January 12, 2023)

After yesterday’s sweep of the article, this six-game slate is full of pitfalls. As tempting as it may be to go hard after a successful night, it is acceptable for discretion to be the better part of valor and not feel the need to have a specific amount of plays every night.

Check out all the tools 4for4 has to aid in your daily prep. The Player Prop Tool will show projected value on listed props and you can customize the search to your liking, the Stat Explorer shows a specific stat for a player and how it compares to that night’s line and even allows you to customize the time frame you are looking at, and the Player Prop Finder shows what the line is at for all of a player’s props at all the primary books. Do not forget the Player Prop Odds Table and Player Splits Tool as well and make sure to get involved in Discord, where staff and subscribers talk through their favorite plays. Let’s make it a profitable Wednesday.

Today’s NBA Player Prop Bets (January 12, 2023)

Kyrie Irving Over 5.5 Assists (+110 at DraftKings)

With Kevin Durant out for a month, the spotlight turns squarely to Kyrie Irving to keep the offense afloat.

No matter who replaces Durant in the starting lineup, the touch time and usage for Irving should increase significantly. If it is one of Joe Harris or Seth Curry, those are players not as adept at creating for themselves but are elite at getting open and hitting shots off movement. The other option would be a similar style player in TJ Warren but his game needs more boosting up than Durant’s did, still adding to the plate for Irving.

In the last two weeks, minus an outlier game against the Spurs the Nets won by 36, Irving is averaging 6.4 assists on 9.4 potential assists, and he went over this line in four of those five. If one of the shooters gets added to the lineup, Irving and Ben Simmons would be the only Nets starters who can truly create for themselves, funneling the playmaking to both of them. Durant was averaging 8.2 potential assists in the last two weeks, so those opportunities have to go somewhere.

Brooklyn should have a good idea of how they plan to function without Durant on the season coming off of three days' rest to game plan. The Nets take on the Celtics but Boston is on the second night of a back-to-back and Jaylen Brown is questionable. The Celtics have been only a league-average defense over the last two weeks and opponents have the seventh-best eFG% in that time, giving Irving a chance at efficiency with the extra potential assists he should get.

Risk: 1 unit on DraftKings to win 1.1 units. (Playable to -110)
