Streaming Defenses: Week 4 Fantasy Football Targets
Generally, defenses have to be available on the waiver wire in at least 40% of Yahoo fantasy leagues to be eligible as a streaming option. This ensures we are talking about defenses readily available.
Last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Ravens for 12pts and finished in a tie for DST3 in most formats. In Week 3, our targets averaged 6 points and, overall, our streaming picks are averaging 11 FP/game.
Continue to target a defense with a home matchup or facing a below average or rookie QB. Week 4 is here, so let's look the defensive options we're targeting this week:
Cincinnati Bengals @ CLE
In 13 career games against the Browns, Geno Atkins has 7.5 sacks, including a two-sack performance in Week 13 last season. Carlos Dunlap is another d-linemen that has had success against Cleveland with 9.5 sacks in 11 career games.
Vontaze Burfict is set to make his 2017 debut after serving a three-game suspension. He should slide back into his normal role as the defensive playcaller and is always a threat to make big plays.
Adam Jones is a veteran who can return a kick or punt for a score. Darqueze Dennard can also make plays in the secondary as he's defended two passes on the young season.
This Browns' offense isn't going to be confused with the Greatest Show on Turf. Deshone Kizer is still making rookie mistakes, especially holding onto the ball too long, which their D-line can exploit. The Bengals swarmed Aaron Rodgers in Week 3, so I can't imagine this group against a rookie QB. Opposing defenses are averaging nearly 14 fantasy points per game against Cleveland and the Browns rank in the bottom five in aFPA to opposing defenses. The Bengals' defense is available in 81% of leagues.
