Week 15 – Travis Benjamin vs. Cincinnati Bengals
In Week 14, Travis Benjamin caught one pass for 27 yards. He had a nice day on returns with 164 yards, but Travis is nothing more than a role player on offense with no fantasy integrity.
Week 14 – Travis Benjamin vs. Indianapolis Colts
On paper, the season-ending injury to Miles Austin opens the door for Travis Benjamin to make some waves. However, with 15 receptions in 12 games and 38 receptions in 34 career games, the evidence is more than circumstantial that Benjamin offers nothing to fantasy executives.
Week 12 – Travis Benjamin at Atlanta Falcons
Travis Benjamin caught one pass for 23 yards in Week 11 and has 15 receptions in 10 games. With Taylor Gabriel and Andrew Hawkins playing well and Josh Gordon back from suspension, Benjamin will remain irrelevant.
Week 11 – Travis Benjamin vs. Houston Texans
Travis Benjamin caught three passes for 46 yards during Cleveland’s important Week 10 victory over Cincinnati. In the current structure of Cleveland’s offense, Benjamin does not get enough targets to help fantasy owners.
Week 10 – Travis Benjamin at Cincinnati Bengals
After a couple of games where he didn’t catch a pass, Travis Benjamin had two receptions for 52 yards in Cleveland’s 22-17 triumph over Tampa Bay. Still, it is impossible to muster any enthusiasm for Travis as a fantasy contributor, as he has just 34 receptions in 30 career games.
Week 9 – Travis Benjamin vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Over the last two games, Travis Benjamin has a grand total of zero receptions. With his struggles in the return game, Benjamin is getting closer to wearing out his welcome in Cleveland. He wore out his welcome with fantasy owners a long time ago. Or maybe never had a welcome to wear out in the first place.
Week 8 – Travis Benjamin vs. Oakland Raiders
Travis Benjamin pitched a shutout last Sunday, failing to catch a pass. If there is a small silver lining, he was targeted four times by scattershot Brian Hoyer. Regardless, Benjamin is a bit player who rarely makes an impact. Continue to tell Travis to take a hike.
Week 7 – Travis Benjamin at Jacksonville Jaguars
Travis Benjamin predictably came back to earth after hauling in two touchdown passes back in week five. Benjamin snagged one pass for 31 yards as Cleveland pummeled Pittsburgh 31-10. While it would not be shocking to see Benjamin brake a big play against Jacksonville’s shoddy defense, his track record of unreliability positions him as an undesirable free agent.
Week 6 – Travis Benjamin vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Before last Sunday, Travis Benjamin, primarily known for his work on returns, had never made a huge impact for the Browns on offense. He picked a great time to have a big game, as Benjamin’s two touchdown receptions against Tennessee were vital to Cleveland’s rally from a 28-3 deficit to a 29-28 victory. While Benjamin deserves to be commended for his performance, it will take more than one good game before he warrants deeper fantasy consideration.
Week 5 – Travis Benjamin at Tennessee Titans
Once in awhile, Travis Benjamin will make some plays. He caught a 43-yard pass in Cleveland’s most recent game, a 23-21 loss to Baltimore. But Benjamin has never been a consistent weapon and is one of those guys destined to have a permanent stay on the waiver wire.
