Week 17: Cadet vs. Bucs
After not receiving a carry in the Saints' Week 16 loss to the Falcons, Travaris Cadet could see some touches in Week 17 if Pierre Thomas misses the game with a rib injury. Regardless, he has zero fantasy value and should remain on your waiver wire.
Week 12: Cadet vs. Ravens
Travaris Cadet caught four passes for 31 yards and also rushed once for no yards in the Saints’ Week 11 loss to Cincinnati. His lone rush resulted in a fumble. While Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas are expected to miss at least another week due to injuries, Cadet will once again serve as Mark Ingram’s backup. But due to the Saints’ heavy usage of Ingram, Cadet has zero fantasy value and should be avoided in all formats this week.
Week 11: Cadet vs. Bengals
Travaris Cadet rushed twice for nine yards and caught three passes on five targets for an additional 18 yards in the Saints’ Week 10 loss to the 49ers. Mark Ingram remains the focal point of the running game in New Orleans and that leaves very little touches for Cadet, even in the passing game. Despite Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas' injury issues and a great matchup against a Cincinnati team that ranks 30th overall in fantasy points allowed to running backs, avoid Cadet this week.
Week 10: Cadet vs. 49ers
Travaris Cadet caught 3-of-5 targets for 29 yards while also rushing twice for one yard in the Saints’ Week 9 win over the Panthers. Fantasy owners looking to cash in on Cadet with Pierre Thomas out with an injury were left disappointed. It doesn’t appear that Thomas will play this week but even with him out, Cadet is merely a RB4 with Mark Ingram taking over as the full-time back in New Orleans. Cadet ranks as our No. 36 overall RB for Week 10 and should be avoided.
Week 9: Cadet vs. Panthers
Travaris Cadet caught four passes for 40 yards in the Saints' Week 8 performance versus the Packers while also adding one carry for seven yards. With Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson out with injury, Mark Ingram received his biggest workload of the season and Cadet was relegated to situational pass-catching duties. Expect Cadet to serve the same role on Thursday versus the Panthers and thus, view him as a flex option for Week 9. He's currently our 29th overall RB heading into this week's action with more value (RB21) in PPR formats.
Week 8: Cadet vs. Packers
Travaris Cadet caught 6-of-9 targets for 51 yards in the Saints’ Week 7 loss to the Lions. He saw an uptick in touches because Pierre Thomas left the game early with a shoulder injury. With Thomas ruled out and Khiry Robinson banged up due to a forearm injury, Cadet could be heavily involved in the Saints’ passing game this Sunday night. Owners in PPR leagues should view Cadet as a decent flex option versus Green Bay and he’s our No. 28 overall RB for Week 8.
Week 5: Cadet vs. Bucs
Travaris Cadet emerged as Sean Payton's preferred passing down back in last week's loss to the Cowboys. Cadet had seven touches for 60 yards on the night, as he caught six passes for 59 yards and rushed just once for one yard. While he seemingly is taking Pierre Thomas' job, Cadet merely remains a stash in deeper leagues. He ranks as our No. 58 overall RB for Week 5 and if you don't have the roster spot, then he won't be worth a pick up. Still, monitor his status each week.
Week 4: Cadet vs. Cowboys
Travaris Cadet rushed for nine yards on two carries in the Saints' 20-9 victory over the Vikings. More was expected of Cadet given Mark Ingram's injury, but he settled for a small role in the team's victory. Leave him on your waiver wire for now.
Week 3: Cadet vs. Vikings
Travaris Cadet failed to make the stat sheet last Sunday in the Saints' 26-24 loss to the Browns in Week 2. But with Mark Ingram expected to be sidelined for a while with a hand injury, Cadet's opportunities should grow in Sean Payton's offense. That said, Pierre Thomas will continue to be the team's main pass catcher out of the backfield while Khiry Robinson will handle most of the ground work. Cadet isn't on the fantasy radar yet, but pay attention to how Payton uses him against the Vikings. We should have a better indication this Sunday of what Cadet's role will be with Ingram out. For now, Cadet ranks as our No. 78 overall RB for Week 3.
Week 2: Cadet vs. Browns
Travaris Cadet caught one pass for five yards in the Saints' 37-34 loss to the Falcons in Week 1. He's not a fantasy option.
