JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Tennessee Titans

With the Jaguars behind last week, T.J. Yeldon had 7 receptions for 64 yards. He also had 5 carries for 13 yards and a score. If the Jags can get Leonard Fournette out of this game without 25 touches, they will. That could bode well for Yeldon and Chris Ivory. Yeldon should at least do enough to serve as a FLEX play.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Indianapolis Colts

After being inactive most of the season, T.J. Yeldon has turned it on as of late and caught 5 passes for 42 yards last week. He got just 3 carries for 10 yards, but with 8 touches last week, he's worked his way into the conversation as a FLEX play.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Cleveland Browns

T.J. Yeldon out-snapped Chris Ivory last week and had 9 touches, including 6 receptions for 39 yards. He's a better compliment to Leonard Fournette because of his pass-catching ability. Yeldon could prove useful as a flex play moving forward, especially in PPR leagues. But that might not be this week since the Jags won't be forced to throw a lot against the Browns.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Houston Texans

T.J. Yeldon will likely serve as the third-down back for the Jaguars behind Leonard Fournette. As long as Fournette stays healthy, it's unlikely Yeldon will see enough touches to be in your lineup.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - 2017 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

T.J. Yeldon has a chance to be the Jaguars' third-down back behind Leonard Fournette.

Fantasy Downside

Injuries continue to be an issue for Yeldon, who is dealing with a preseason hamstring issue.

2017 Bottom Line

Yeldon had 50 receptions last season in a similar role, though he got an opportunity to fill-in as a starter when Chris Ivory was injured. With Fournette on board, Yeldon will have more of a solid role than Ivory. But it will likely be Ivory, not Yeldon, who starts if Fournette is injured. Yeldon is only worth a shot in the late rounds of PPR leagues.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 16, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Tennessee
With Chris Ivory back last week, Yeldon got just eight carries for 28 yards last week, though he did catch five passes for 34 yards. That put his touches at 13, three more than Ivory. In PPR leagues, he has more value than Ivory. But it's slight. Neither is worth more than a flex play at this point.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 15, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Houston
With Chris Ivory sidelined, Yeldon is getting enough of a workload to be a decent No. 2 RB, particularly in PPR leagues. He had 17 carries for 59 yards and seven receptions for another 31 yards last week for a solid 90-yard effort. Houston limited Yeldon to 32 yards on nines carries just a few weeks ago, though, which doesn't bode well. Ivory was limited with his hamstring injury at practice this week. If he returns, it cuts into Yeldon's value. Keep an eye on that situation. Otherwise, consider Yeldon a low-end No. 2 RB or solid flex play.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 14, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Minnesota
With Chris Ivory sidelined, Yeldon got 14 carries, his most since Week 4. He gained 55 yards on the ground and caught three passes for 27 yards for a solid 82-yard effort. That put him in RB2 range. Considering the Vikings just held Dallas' running backs to 97 yards and a touchdown, Yeldon's probably looking at similar value this week, largely based on his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. But he's likely better as a flex play, even with Ivory unlikely to play again this week.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 13, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Denver
Coming off a week in which he did not practice, Yeldon got just seven touches last week for 20 yards. He's still fighting through the ankle injury, but so is Chris Ivory. Yeldon has topped 39 yards just once this season, so even if he does start this week, he might be limited. Given what he's done this season and his injury status, it's tough to recommend Yeldon as anything more than a flex play.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Detroit
Yeldon matched Chris Ivory's nine carries last week and picked up 32 yards on the ground, one more than Ivory. He also was a bigger factor in the passing game again, catching three passes for 27 yards. In what figures to be a game the Jaguars are going to have to score a lot to keep up, Yeldon is probably the safer bet out of Jacksonville's backfield if you feel like you absolutely have to use one, though I'm not quite sure why that would be.
