DEN WR Tim Patrick - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Detroit Lions
In the loss in the snow against the Chiefs last week, Drew Lock threw for just over 200 yards, with Tim Patrick receiving seven targets resulting in three catches for 26 yards. Since his return from IR, Patrick has posted 10 receptions for 156 yards and no TDs in five games. Even though the Lions have been terrible versus the pass, Patrick is a risky fantasy option.

DEN WR Tim Patrick - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Kansas City Chiefs
Drew Lock connected with 10 different pass catchers last week at Houston, with Tim Patrick turning three targets into two receptions for 50 yards. Despite being Denver’s No. 2 WR, in the past three weeks, Patrick has totaled only three catches. Lock may need to air it out in what could be a high-scoring affair at Kansas City on Sunday, but Patrick is no more than a WR3/flex play.

DEN WR Tim Patrick - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Houston Texans
Drew Lock got his first professional start at QB last week versus the Chargers. While Courtland Sutton had a big game with two TDs, Tim Patrick saw just two targets from the rookie, without a reception. In the past two weeks, Patrick has registered just a three-yard catch. Lock will get his first road experience on Sunday at Houston, which could result in a long afternoon. There is no reason for Patrick to be in your starting lineup, even against a poor Texans pass defense.

DEN WR Tim Patrick - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
In his first full game of the season two weeks ago Tim Patrick recorded four grabs for 77 yards but at Buffalo last Sunday he was held to just a three-yard catch. The Denver offense couldn’t get going all game, totaling only 134 yards. The Chargers have the fourth-best defense versus the pass so Patrick is no more than a WR3/flex play, especially with Drew Lock likely at QB.

DEN WR Tim Patrick - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Buffalo Bills
After spending the previous nine weeks on IR due to a hand injury, Tim Patrick was back with a vengeance last Sunday against the Vikings, as he was targeted eight times resulting in four receptions for 77 yards. At 6’4” he’s able to utilize his size to box out smaller defenders. He’s the Broncos No. 2 WR now but will be facing a good Buffalo pass defense. He should be considered a WR3/flex start.

Week 17 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

In the loss at Oakland last Monday, Tim Patrick snagged three balls for 44 yards. While he has only one TD on the season, with the Broncos thin at WR he’s collected 15 receptions over the past three weeks. Patrick didn’t have a reception in the earlier meeting with the Chargers this season and makes for a risky fantasy start on Sunday.

Week 16 at Oakland Raiders

In the loss to the Browns last Saturday, Tim Patrick received eight looks from Case Keenum, resulting in five catches for a team-high 65 yards. Twelve of Patrick’s 16 receptions this season have come in the past two weeks, after Emmanuel Sanders was lost for the year. In the Week 2 meeting versus the Raiders Patrick had only a 26-yard reception but he’ll likely be a larger part of the passing attack on Monday as the Broncos remain thin on pass catchers.

DEN WR Tim Patrick - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Cleveland Browns

In the loss to the 49ers last week, Tim Patrick received 10 looks from Case Keenum, resulting in seven grabs for a team-leading 85 yards. He also had an 11-yard run on an end-around. With the Broncos behind by 20 points in the first half, Keenum threw 42 passes. Expect a more competitive contest in Denver on Saturday night, which means fewer pass plays in a balanced attack. Patrick should only be started if you’re out of other WR options.
