IND TE Mo Alie-Cox - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Houston Texans

Mo Alie-Cox is an interesting option at the tight end position because of his athleticism and because he’s seeing more snaps than the other Colts tight ends – including Trey Burton. However, he's had just seven total receptions over his past three games combined and has only eclipsed 50 yards twice all year. He also hasn’t scored since Week 4 against the Bears. With Burton healthy, sit Alie-Cox.

IND TE Mo Alie-Cox - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Tennessee Titans

Mo Alie-Cox has a nice matchup this week against the Titans, but he’s still splitting targets and snaps with Trey Burton and Jack Doyle, who returned from injury last week to vulture a touchdown. Alie-Cox has upside, but until his targets get more consistent, he’s too risky to trust in fantasy lineups.

IND TE Mo Alie-Cox - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Green Bay Packers

Mo Alie-Cox caught three of four balls for 19 yards last week. He’s still splitting time with Trey Burton – and Jack Doyle, when healthy – but he may be the most talented and traditional tight end of the three. He has shown to cause mismatches across the field and has had some productive moments. He has a tough matchup against the Packers’ third-ranked defense in aFPA to opposing tight ends this week, and he’s still splitting work, making it hard to trust him. He’s a deep-league stash option at best, and should stay on waivers in most leagues.

IND TE Mo Alie-Cox - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tennessee Titans

Mo Alie-Cox caught all three of his targets last week against the Ravens, gaining 43 yards. He led the Colts’ tight ends with 51% of the team’s offensive snaps, but the Colts seem to be continuing to use three tight ends. Even though Alie-Cox has a great matchup against a Titans defense that ranks 28th in aFPA to opposing tight ends, it’s hard to trust him with the three tight ends taking turns – even with Doyle’s status in question for this week. Alie-Cox is worth holding in extremely deep leagues in case he can rise above the rest of the crop, and he probably has some value in deep dynasty formats as well, but he’s too risky in most leagues and is probably better left on waivers for now.

IND TE Mo Alie-Cox - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Cleveland Browns

Mo Alie-Cox scored another touchdown last week, but it was his only reception and he was targeted just twice. Meanwhile Trey Burton had five targets. This week, Alie-Cox faces a Browns defense that ranks 30th in aFPA to opposing tight ends, giving him significant upside if he can lock down consistent targets. However, with Burton and Jack Doyle in the mix, it’s too risky to count on any of the tight ends in Indianapolis and he should remain on the bench for the time being.

IND TE Mo Alie-Cox - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Chicago Bears

Mo Alie-Cox had another good game last week against the Jets with 50 yards and a touchdown off three receptions. The coaching staff seemed to indicate he’ll have a role moving forward, so hopefully, he’s supplanted Jack Doyle and we can have a consistent fantasy option at the position for this team. Chicago actually ranks 20th in aFPA to opposing tight ends this year, so it’s worth considering him in deeper leagues, but he’s a risky streaming option at best until we get more clarity on his snap count with a healthy Doyle – and possibly a healthy Trey Burton soon – in the mix.

IND TE Mo Alie-Cox - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. New York Jets

Mo Alie-Cox had a great game filling in for the injured Jack Doyle last week, catching five balls for 111 yards. He’s been talked about for over a year now as a long-term threat for the starting job, and he demonstrated why against the Vikings. Look out for Jack Doyle’s health – he’s questionable this week – but for as long a Doyle is out, Alie-Cox should have some value.

This week, he’ll face a lowly Jets team that just got torched by Jordan Reed and the 49ers backup offensive unit. If Doyle is out again, move Alie-Cox into top-level streaming territory. If Doyle plays, leave Alie-Cox on the bench, but try to keep him on your roster if possible. Doyle hasn’t been super healthy in recent seasons.

IND TE Mo Alie-Cox - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Tennessee Titans

The Colts offensive starters, if healthy, will play a full 60 minutes in Week 17 in what has turned into a play-in game against the Titans. Indianapolis is a 3-point road favorite with an implied team total of 23.25 points. Tennessee is third in aFPA to TEs, and Eric Ebron is in the concussion protocol. If he cannot play, Mo Alie-Cox would become a streaming option. Otherwise, Ebron remains a high-end TE1 for Week 17.
