Week 2 vs Miami
Lewis didn't manage a single target last week against Carolina. The Dolphins, however, gave up nine catches for 76 yards and a score at Washington, so perhaps Lewis will actually be in the game plan this week. I wouldn't bet on it, though.
Week 1 vs. Carolina
With Julius Thomas out, Marcedes Lewis stays in the starting TE role for the Jags. The Jags do like to use some double tight end formations, which also will put Clay Harbor on the field, but Thomas is the more polished receiving threat. That said, he won't be a strong fantasy option this week.
Marcedes Lewis Week 17 vs. Texans
Marcedes Lewis had only two receptions for six yards last week but did score. He managed 69 yards on three catches three weeks ago against Houston, so there is a glimmer of hope here. But just a glimmer. There are better tight end matchups.
Marcedes Lewis Week 16 vs. Titans
Marcedes Lewis had just two catches for 22 yards last week at Baltimore. The Titans have allowed seven TE touchdowns this season. Lewis has scored just once this season in limited playing time. You can do better at tight end this week.
Marcedes Lewis Week 15 vs. Ravens
Marcedes Lewis caught three passes for 69 yards last week, showing some ability to get downfield. But Baltimore hasn't allowed a TD pass to an opposing tight end all season. You just can't trust the Jacksonville passing game.
Marcedes Lewis Week 14 vs. Texans
Marcedes Lewis hasn't shown much since returning to the Jacksonville lineup following a lengthy time out with an injury. Last week, he managed two receptions for eight yards. That was actually an improvement over the previous week. You can do better,
Marcedes Lewis Week 13 vs. Giants
Marcedes Lewis' big comeback resulted in one receptions for minus-5 yards last week. Blake Bortles isn't playing well right now. The Giants have given up seven TE touchdowns in the past six games, so there's some hope here. Lewis might be worth a shot in the dark this week, though it would be a big one.
Marcedes Lewis Week 12 vs. Colts
Marcedes Lewis (ankle) is slated to play for the first time since Week 2. And he gets a juicy matchup in which to return. Indianapolis has allowed eight tight end touchdowns this season and Lewis is a reliable red zone target. He's a nice sleeper tight end play this week.
Marcedes Lewis Week 2 vs Redskins
Marcedes Lewis got nine targets last week and recorded six receptions. That's the good news. The bad is that he managed just 35 yards. Obviously Chad Henne likes to throw him the ball, but it's more of a safety blanket thing than anything. Lewis is also hurting with a knee injury, but should play. He should be on your radar but not in your lineup.
Marcedes Lewis Week 1 vs. Eagles
Marcedes Lewis closed out 2013 on a roll, catching four touchdowns in the final five games. But the Eagles allowed just three touchdowns to opposing tight ends in 2013. And if Lewis isn't catching touchdowns, he doesn't have a lot of value. Look elsewhere for help this week.
