HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

With the Texans falling behind early last week at Jacksonville, Lamar Miller was given the ball only 9 times for 32 yards and he caught 2 passes for 1 yard. Alfred Blue led the team with 12 carries, but expect to see Miller regain most of the RB touches on Monday at home versus Pittsburgh. He’ll be facing the league’s No. 8 ranked defense against the run, however, so continue to temper expectations for Miller, especially with T.J. Yates under center.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Jacksonville Jaguars

In the home loss to San Fran last Sunday, Lamar Miller had 17 of the team’s rushing attempts, but finished with just 53 yards on the ground. The disappointing, but consistent, season continued for Miller, as he has run for between 51-61 yards for the seventh straight game. He’s been held out of the end zone the past two weeks and will likely be called on for a heavy workload at Jacksonville with T.J. Yates quarterbacking the Texans. With Houston behind for much of the meeting versus the Jags in Week 1, Miller collected 65 rushing and 31 receiving yards. He’s an RB2 play in the rematch.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. San Francisco 49ers

In the loss at Tennessee last week, Lamar Miller ran for 56 yards and caught 4 passes for 38 additional yards. His 94 total yards were the most he’s had since Week 4, also against the Titans. He has been the model of consistency on the ground, with between 51 and 61 yards in six straight games. Miller continues to be the team’s workhorse and should receive his usual 15-20 carries on Sunday against a 49ers defense that is the fifth-worst against the run. No question he should remain in your starting lineup.

Week 13 at Tennessee Titans

On Monday night at Baltimore, Lamar Miller ran for 51 yards on 17 carries and snagged a 7-yard pass. Miller scored for the second straight game and has been in the end zone 6 times this season (3 rushing and 3 receiving). However, he has not topped 70 rushing yards during the past six outings. With Deshaun Watson under center and at home, Miller ran for 75 yards and a TD and caught 4 passes for 56 yards and another score in the blowout of the Titans in October. The Titans own the fifth-best run defense and things will not come so easily on the road, especially with Tom Savage at QB. Miller should be considered an RB2 play.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Miller scored his fifth TD of the season last week in the win over the Cardinals. Despite being the team’s top RB, three of his scores in 2017 have come as a receiver, including the one last Sunday where he did a great job keeping his feet inbounds along the sideline. Miller still hasn’t run for more than 75 yards in any game this season, but is coming off of a season-high 22 carries versus Arizona. He will again receive the bulk of the rushing attempts on the road, but it may be tough going against the a defense that allows just over 300 total yards per game.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Arizona Cardinals

As long as Tom Savage continues to be at the helm of Houston’s offense, Lamar Miller’s fantasy value dwindles. In the loss to the Rams last Sunday, he finished with 60 yards on 11 carries and caught a 14-yard pass. It’s been a pretty disappointing season for Miller owners anyway, as he has totaled over 100 yards just once and has not rushed for more than 75 yards in any contest. In the past four games, the RB has not run for more than the 60 yards he posted in Los Angeles. This week should be a good opportunity for Miller, though, against an Arizona defense allowing over 340 yards per game. Consider him an RB2 option.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Los Angeles Rams

With Tom Savage under center last Sunday versus the Colts, Lamar Miller ran 10 times for 57 yards and caught 4 passes for 34 yards. Houston was behind for much of the game and had its rally fall just short. Savage will again be the signal-caller this week, so look for the Rams defense to stuff the line and make the QB try to beat them. Miller will still get his touches, but a big performance is too much to expect.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Seahawks defense had some problems with the Texans offense and Lamar Miller last week. In the disappointing defeat for Houston, Miller ran for 54 yards and scored a TD, while adding 3 receptions for 19 yards and another score through the air. It was the second time this season he had both a rushing and receiving touchdown in the same game. Coincidentally, all 4 of Miller’s TDs have come in those two contests. Versus the Colts on Sunday, Miller will be running against a defense allowing over 400 yards per game. Make sure he remains in your starting lineup.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Seattle Seahawks

In the win over the Browns two weeks ago, Lamar Miller led the Texans with 15 carries, but he was outgained on the ground by rookie Donta Foreman, 59 yards to 41. Miller did grab 3 passes for 40 yards in the easy win. Through the first six games, the veteran has yet to top the century mark and has scored only twice (both in Week 4 in the blowout of Tennessee). He should be reinserted into your starting lineup after the week off, especially against a Seahawks run defense giving up over 110 rushing yards per game.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Cleveland Browns

After falling behind a clock-dominating Kansas City offense in the first half last Sunday night, the ground game became secondary for the Houston offense, resulting in Lamar Miller finishing with 15 carries for 74 yards and 2 receptions for 15 yards. The 74 rushing yards were the second-most in a game this season for Miller, topped only by the 75 yards he gained on the ground two weeks ago. Miller will be given the bulk of the carries against a Browns defense ranked an impressive No. 6 versus the run. But, with the offense receiving a jolt from Deshaun Watson at QB, he should remain in your starting lineup.
