BAL RB Javorius Allen - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Kansas City

Javorius Allen struggled running the ball last week against the Seahawks as the Ravens had to abandon the running game in a beatdown. Allen only had 14 yards on eight carries, but salvaged his day a little by catching five passes for 44 yards. He remains a versatile option in the Ravens backfield and arguably their best offensive threat.

This week, he should have a little better time against a Chiefs defense that has been very good against the run, but not quite as stout as Seattle has been. Expect the Ravens to struggle, but to find enough room against Kansas City for Allen to wind up with low end RB2 numbers this week, especially in a PPR.

Week 14 vs. Seattle

Javorius Allen had a great game last week against the Dolphins. He only averaged 3.7 yards per carry on the ground, gaining 63 yards on 17 carries, but he was very active in the passing game. Allen caught 12 of the 13 passes thrown his way, including a 41 yard catch and run for a touchdown. He wound up with 107 yards receiving and was one of the most productive fantasy backs for Week 13.

This week, Allen will have a harder time against a much better defense. The Seahawks have allowed the third least amount of rushing yards this year and the fourth least amount of passing yards. Allen should get a full workload again, which should be enough to give him RB2 numbers in most leagues, but fantasy owners should temper their expectations against a superior defense.

BAL RB Javorius Allen - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Miami

Javorius Allen had a decent debut as the Ravens starting running back on Monday night against the Browns. He finished with a modest 55 yards on 12 carries, but he added four receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown. Allen showed the type of versatility that makes him a nice fit for offensive coordinator Marc Trestman’s offense.

This week, Allen gets another great matchup against the woeful Miami Dolphins run defense that ranks dead last in the league in rushing yards allowed this season. Allen split carries a bit with Terrance West last week, which hurts his fantasy potential a little, but he should still catch passes and get a large enough workload to make him a solid RB2 option in all leagues.

BAL RB Javorius Allen - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Cleveland

Javorius Allen only had 67 yards on the ground last week against the Rams, but had 22 carries in relief of Justin Forsett, who broke his arm early in the game. Plus, Allen added 48 yards on five receptions, turning in a pretty decent day overall. Allen is set to take over the starting role in Baltimore with Forsett out for the season.

Allen is poised to start his tenure as the Ravens starting back in a positive way. He has a matchup against the league’s worst run defense. The Browns have allowed more yards per game on the ground than any other team in the league, and they’ve given up nine rushing touchdowns as well. Allen is a risky option because the Ravens offense is going to struggle the rest of the year, but he could have RB2 value as a sleeper option with a full workload.

BAL RB Javorius Allen - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. St. Louis
Javorius Allen had five carries and a reception for a total of 23 yards last week in a loss to the Jaguars. He continues to serve a backup role to starter Justin Forsett, and until that changes, there’s no reason to expect his fantasy value to get any higher. He remains a handcuff for Forsett owners only, and he should not be active this week against the Rams.

BAL RB Javorius Allen - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Jacksonville
Javorius Allen has shown flashes this season in a limited role, and had three catches for 30 yards against the Chargers before the bye last week. He remains a handcuff to starter Justin Forsett, however, and will remain in that capacity until he gets a consistent number of carries or Forsett suffers an injury. He shouldn’t be in anyone’s active lineup this week.

BAL RB Javorius Allen - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. San Diego
Javorius Allen only saw the field on 14 percent of the Ravens offensive snaps on Monday night in a loss to the Cardinals. He ended up with just three carries and one reception for a total of 35 yards. He hasn’t looked bad when he’s had the opportunity to run the ball, but with Forsett healthy and looking more like his 2014 version, it’s unlikely Allen will be more than a handcuff in the near future. Keep him on the bench this week despite an excellent matchup.

BAL RB Javorius Allen - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Arizona
Javorius Allen was picked up in a lot of leagues last week in case starter Justin Forsett was inactive, but Forsett ended up starting and Allen was relegated to his usual change of pace role. He ended up with 21 total yards on four carries and a reception. Expect similar production from the rookie while Forsett is healthy, but he has value as a handcuff. In the event of a Forsett injury, Allen would likely step into a full workload. For now, keep him on the bench.

BAL RB Javorius Allen - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at San Francisco

Javorius Allen had eight carries for 58 yards last week against the Browns, and with Lorenzo Taliaferro now on IR and set to miss the remainder of the season, Allen could get more work as the change-of-pace back in Baltimore.

Allen will still be behind Justin Forsett, however, and even in a nice matchup against the 49ers, it’s hard to trust starting him. He’s a nice handcuff however, and not a bad stash option in large leagues and dynasty formats. Forsett just turned 30, and he’s nursing a minor injury right now, so Allen should be added if possible in case he gets his chance. Should Forsett miss the game on Sunday, Allen becomes an intriguing RB2 option.

BAL RB Javorius Allen - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Oakland

Javorius Allen had nine carries and a reception last week against the Broncos, but wound up with just 34 total yards from scrimmage as the Ravens offense struggled heavily in what ended up as an ugly loss.

This week, Allen will face Oakland, but may have to contend with Lorenzo Taliaferro for touches behind starter Justin Forsett. Fantasy owners should leave Allen on the bench until he assumes a more prominent role, but deep leaguers and Forsett owners should monitor the snaps and carries given to the two backup backs in Baltimore, in case one outplays the other.
