Week 17 at Carolina
Jameis Winston has had a great rookie season, considering the troubles he's had to go through, but don't expect him to do well this week. He'll face a very tough Panthers defense that gave him fits earlier in the season.
Winston threw four interceptions in his first outing against Carolina in Week 4. He's improved since then, but this will still be a tough matchup for the rookie. We expect him to be a poorer option at QB this week.
Week 16 vs. Chicago
There are some things in fantasy that you just can't predict, and Jameis Winston going for a career-high 363 yards last week against the Rams is one of them. The rookie QB had 50 pass attempts in the game, which is another career high.
We expect Winston's numbers to drop from a week ago, but we still like him a lot in a favorable matchup against Chicago. The Bears allowed Teddy Bridgewater to have a monster game last week (5 TDs), and overall the Bears have struggled this season against QBs. Winston should be viewed as a low-end QB1 play this week.
Week 15 at St. Louis
Jameis Winston was a major letdown last week as he finished with only 182 yards and one touchdown against the league's worst pass defense. Part of the reason is his second receiver, Vincent Jackson, left the game with injury, but it's still surprising to see such low numbers.
Winston will get a harder task this week as he faces St. Louis. The Rams were one of the toughest teams against the pass, although in the last three games they've allowed seven touchdowns to QBs. Still, we expect Winston to be a much lesser option at QB this week.
Week 14 vs. New Orleans
Jameis Winston has played well his rookie season, and is now everyone's go-to streaming quarterback for Week 14. The Bucs QB faces a Saints defense that has been absolutely terrible against the pass all season.
When Winston faced New Orleans in Week 2 he put up 207 passing yards with one passing TD and a rushing TD. His rushing touchdown wasn't a fluke, considering the rookie now has five on the season and four in his last six games.
With all of his weapons returned, Winston should be seen as a QB1 play this week. This matchup is too great, and Winston is capable of taking advantage.
Week 13 vs. Atlanta
Jameis Winston came off of his high from Week 11 where he threw for five touchdowns and finished with just one score in Week 12. He still played well, but he wasn't much of a fantasy option. We expect that to continue in Week 13.
Winston faces a tough Falcons secondary this week, and it's a team he struggled against earlier in the season. In fact, Winston's game against Atlanta is his lowest career yardage total (177).
The Bucs QB will be one of the poorer options this week.
Week 12 at Indianapolis
Jameis Winston easily had his best game of the season last week as he demolished the Eagles poor defense for 246 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions. Winston's numbers improved in part because Vincent Jackson returned to the lineup. This week, Winston gets a favorable matchup against the Colts. Indy has allowed 809 passing yards and seven touchdowns in the last three games. Winston should be viewed as a QB2 with upside this week.
Week 11 at Philadelphia
Jameis Winston has essentially just been playing catch with Mike Evans the last three games. With Vincent Jackson, Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Louis Murphy out of the lineup, 47 percent of Winston's passing yards have gone towards Evans.
Basically what we're saying is Winston doesn't have much to work with, and he's struggled as a result. He has just one passing touchdown in the last three weeks, but he's made up for it with a rushing score in each of those contests. Still, until Jackson returns (which won't happen this week) Winston isn't a very good option. He especially isn't a good option against an Eagles defense that forces many turnovers.
Week 10 vs. Dallas
Jameis Winston is doing the best he can with what he has. In the last two games, he's had to play without two of his three original starting wide receivers and without his star tight end, but he's still managed to produce good numbers.
Winston will likely struggle this week as he faces a tough Cowboys secondary. He'll likely be without Vincent Jackson and there's a chance he doesn't have Austin Seferian-Jenkins as well. So poor matchup without much to throw to means there's not much to like about Winston this week. He'll be one of the poorer quarterback plays in Week 10.
Week 9 vs. New York Giants
Jameis Winston didn't have many weapons last week and he only managed to finish with 177 passing yards (a career low). He did have two scores, one on the ground and one through the air, so he played well overall.
This week he gets a great matchup against the Giants. As you probably know, the G-Men gave up seven touchdowns to Drew Brees last week and have been struggling all season long. Winston likely won't have Vincent Jackson, but he has enough options to make himself valuable this week. He's on the low-end QB1 spectrum.
Week 8 vs. Atlanta
Jameis Winston had his best game of the season last week, finishing with a career-high 297 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He did all of that despite having Vincent Jackson and Louis Murphy out most of the game.
Winston will likely have a rougher outing this week against the Falcons. Atlanta has given up a lot of yards (eight most YPG in the league), but has only given up eight passing touchdowns. Winston is a bit of a risky play, but there is some potential this week.
