Week 15 vs. Denver Broncos
The Colts played on the road, in a blizzard, and now have a short week to prepare to face the Broncos defense. No problem! Sheesh. They also have the sixth-lowest implied team total in Vegas this week with just 19 points. Brissett faces a top-10 Broncos defense in our aFPA to QBs, and the Broncos have allowed the fifth-fewest points to the position over the past four weeks. Be afraid. Be very afraid to let Jacoby Brissett anywhere near your lineups.
Week 14 at Buffalo Bills
The forecast calls for snow in the afternoon and sustained winds of 18 miles per hour. Not exactly what you're looking for if you have a struggling offense like the Colts. The Bills are ranked sixth in our aFPA against QBs, and Brissett has only 18 points combined in his past two games. He should be nowhere near your lineups this week.
Week 13 at Jacksonville Jaguars
Tom Savage might be the only quarterback you want less than Jacoby Brissett this week, with Brissett facing the Jaguars on the road, the best defense in aFPA versus QBs. The Jaguars have allowed just 8.3 fantasy points per game to QBs this season, best in the league. Nope. Nope. Nope. Stay away from Brissett in Week 13.
Week 12 vs. Tennessee Titans
Jacoby Brissett has been in the concussion protocol, but the beat writer who has covered the Colts the longest reported this week he expects Brissett to play, as Brissett has been practicing this week. It's a great matchup for Brissett this week against a Titans defense ranked 26th in aFPA vs. QBs this season. Brissett is a streamable option in Week 12, but not a QB1 option.
Week 10 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Colts managed all of seven points last year at home against the Steelers, and now, Pittsburgh is coming off a bye to face Brissett and company. The Steelers are sixth in our aFPA vs. QB rankings. Overall, they have allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to the position. Brissett belongs on benches in 1QB leagues in Week 10.
Week 9 at Houston Texans
Houston is ranked 19th in our aFPA vs. QB rankings and, overall, has allowed the fourth-most points to the position (19.3 fantasy points/game). Part of that was Russell Wilson destroying this secondary last week, but our aFPA rankings take that into account. This game also became more manageable for the Colts when Deshaun Watson tore his ACL, but a negative game script is still expected for Brissett with the Colts a 6.5-point underdog. Brissett is averaging a bit more than 16 fantasy points per game since Week 3, a very streamable number if needed. However, he's not a top-12 QB this week.
Week 8 at Cincinnati Bengals
When was the last time a two-win team was a 10-point underdog against another two-win team? Well, that's what the Colts are this week. Maybe it will be a negative game script for Jacoby Brissett? That's all we got. We have no other good reasons why Brissett should be in starting lineups. Stay away from the dumpster fire that is the Colts offense, after they allowed 10 sacks last week.
Week 7 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Brissett had a golden opportunity last week against a bottom-five Titans defense and only managed 14 fantasy points. Now, he faces a Jaguars defense ranked first in our aFPA vs. QB rankings. It's a brutal matchup. The Jaguars are allowing less than seven fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Bench Brissett this week.
Week 6 at Tennessee Titans
Since Week 2, when he took over as the full-time starter, Brissett is averaging 16 fantasy points/game, trading great weeks with subpar weeks. Off an 18-point day against the 49ers, he now gets to face a Titans defense allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, despite holding Jay Cutler to just 6.5 points last week. Brissett’s rushing ability in the red zone is raising his fantasy floor, with 3 rushing scores in the last three weeks. The Titans are also 31st in our aFPA vs. QB rankings. Brissett is a solid streaming option this week.
Week 5 vs. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have allowed at least 15 fantasy points to opposing fantasy quarterbacks three consecutive weeks. That puts Brissett on the streaming QB radar for Week 5. San Francisco is 15th in our aFPA vs. QB rankings. He also provides upside as a rusher; however, he's more of a DFS value play this week than a starter in one-QB leagues, unless you are really strapped.
