Week 7 at Philadelphia Eagles
Dustin Hopkins is on injured reserve. Do not start him.
Week 6 vs. San Francisco 49ers
Dustin Hopkins is a top-five kicker in Week 6. The 49ers have given up the most points to fantasy kickers this season.
Week 4 at Kansas City Chiefs
Hopkins has back-to-back weeks of nine points, but the match-up is much tougher this week at Kansas CIty. Find better options in our kicker rankings among those available this week.
Week 3 vs. Oakland Raiders
Oakland-Washington is projected to be the highest scoring game of Week 3, with a total of 54.5 points. Washington is the home underdog, which could lead to negative game script and more passing for Cousins, coupled with an implied team total of 25.75 points. Oakland, though, is third in our aFPA vs. kicker rankings. There are more reliable options this week. Plus, Hopkins has made only 5-of-12 field goal attempts from 50+ yards in his career. He doesn't provide confident upside there.
Week 2 at Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are fourth in our aFPA vs. kicker rankings, which means you should probably not start Hopkins this week and pick up another kicker. Only five fantasy points last week for Hopkins, and this offense is still trying to get on track after a slow preseason and Week 1.
Week 1 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Dustin Hopkins is a fine Week 1 play against the Eagles. He averaged more than nine fantasy points per game in home games last season. Consider him a top-12 option this week.
Fantasy Upside
Dustin Hopkins finished sixth among kickers last season.
Fantasy Downside
His ability to be a top-five kicker last year was capped by poor long-distance accuracy, missing four of his seven 50-yard+ attempts, missing two kicks from 40-49 yards, and two kicks from 30-39 yards.
2017 Bottom Line
We view Hopkins as a top-12 fantasy kicking option without a top-five ceiling for the reasons outlined above.
