KC RB Darrel Williams - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Los Angeles Chargers

Darrel Williams is the clear backup in Kansas City as he's the only other running back who received a touch last week outside of CEH. Williams finished with seven carries for 23 yards and caught two passes for seven yards (on two targets). He played on 33% of the snaps while CEH played 67%. Williams will be a solid handcuff for CEH owners, but probably won't produce enough on a weekly basis to warrant a start.

KC RB Darrel Williams - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Houston Texans

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the back to own in Kansas City's backfield, but don't be surprised if Darrel Williams has a sizable role in Week 1. CEH is getting his first NFL action ever this week with the lack of a preseason. Williams finished with 56 touches, 300+ scrimmage yards and four total touchdowns for Kansas City last season. Chiefs GM Brett Veach said of Williams: "There’s a lot of trust in regards to his ability in all phases of the game – running and blocking, in particular, pass pro too." CEH is obviously the guy to start this week if you have him, but Williams could finish with RB3 numbers this week against Houston.

KC RB Darrel Williams - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Oakland Raiders

Darrel Williams saw increased playing time the last time Kansas City played due to Damien Williams suffering an injury. Damien has been absent from practice this week, which means we should expect to see a two-man committee between LeSean McCoy and Darrel Williams. Even though it's a favorable matchup, this backfield has been a mess this season and it's hard to see Darrel Williams being anything more than a poor flex play.

KC RB Darrel Williams - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Los Angeles Chargers

LeSean McCoy was inactive last week, which means Darrel Williams had a big role, right? Nope. He played 21% of the offensive snaps, but saw just three touches (two carries, one catch). Unless he sees the ball more often, he's not a strong fantasy option.

KC RB Darrel Williams - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Denver Broncos

Darrel Williams only played on seven snaps in Week 6. He's not worth anything unless something happens to McCoy and the other D. Williams again.

KC RB Darrel Williams - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Houston Texans

Darrel Williams played on 22% of the Chiefs' offensive snaps last week, but finished the game with zero touches. With Damien Williams back in the lineup, and LeSean McCoy healthy, there's not really a need for Darrel Williams anymore. Avoid him in fantasy.

KC RB Darrel Williams - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Detroit Lions

Darrel Williams emerged out of nowhere last week to finish with 62 yards on nine carries and 47 yards on five receptions. He's in a good position this week to potentially have another strong game as Damien Williams has missed practice sessions, and LeSean McCoy was limited. Even if McCoy is active, there should be enough love for both backs this week. Detroit is giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing backs. Williams can be viewed as a low-end RB2 or flex play in Week 4 vs. Detroit.

KC RB Darrel Williams - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Don't get Darrel Williams confused with Damien Williams on the Chiefs. Damien should get the majority of the touches this week with Darrel sprinkled in. We don't think Darrel Williams will get quite enough touches to be worth playing this week, but he might just take some action away from Damien.
