JAX RB Carlos Hyde - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Buffalo Bills

Jacksonville ran the ball 43 times for 179 yards last Sunday versus the Steelers, with Carlos Hyde receiving eight carries for 44 yards. Now that Leonard Fournette is healthy, Hyde is part of a crowded backfield that includes third-down RB T.J. Yeldon. On the road against a good Bills defense, Hyde doesn’t make for a good fantasy start.

JAX RB Carlos Hyde - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

With Leonard Fournette back on the field last Sunday at Indy, Carlos Hyde was limited to three rushes for five yards. Fournette will remain the featured ball carrier and T.J. Yeldon the main pass catcher out of the backfield, making Hyde nearly fantasy irrelevant. Right now, Hyde’s only value appears to be as a handcuff.

JAX RB Carlos Hyde - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Indianapolis Colts

In his first action with the Jaguars two weeks ago versus Philly in London, Carlos Hyde received just six carries for 11 yards. If Leonard Fournette is cleared to play on Sunday, Hyde should remain on your bench. Even if Fournette is out once again, Hyde doesn’t make for a good fantasy start, even against an average Colts run defense.

JAX RB Carlos Hyde - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Carlos Hyde should see his first action as a Jaguar on Sunday in London. With the Browns this season, Hyde led the team with 382 rushing yards and five TDs. Expect him and T.J. Yeldon to share playing time, with Yeldon utilized more on passing downs. It’s advised you keep Hyde on your bench this week vs. the No. 2 run defense and monitor how Jacksonville fits him into the ground game.

CLE RB Carlos Hyde - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Carlos Hyde was strong to start the season, scoring in four straight games, but he's failed to find the end zone for the last two weeks. Not only that, but he averaged a measly 2.4 yards per carry in his last outing. We always knew the TD streak wouldn't last all year, but it'd be nice if he got more than 34 yards.

He should perform a lot better this week against a poor Bucs defense. Even while allowing the most fantasy points to opposing QBs, Tampa Bay has also allowed the seventh-most points to RBs. Hyde should get plenty of opportunities for a strong game vs. Tampa Bay. We like him as an RB2 play.

CLE RB Carlos Hyde - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Carlos Hyde's touchdown streak snapped, but he still had a decent game totaling 77 yards. Perhaps the more positive takeaway is that his playing time wasn't affected despite the big game from Nick Chubb a week prior. Hyde is still the main dog in this backfield.

This week he gets a fairly difficult matchup against the Chargers. L.A. has only allowed two rushing scores to backs this season, and below 60 rush yards in three games. Expect Hyde to be mostly average with a decent chance at a goal line score. He can be viewed as a lower-end RB2 play.

CLE RB Carlos Hyde - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Carlos Hyde didn't finish as the leading rusher last week, but he still had a solid day. He finished with 82 yards on 22 carries and scored once again as he now has at least one TD in every game this season. We wouldn't worry too much about Nick Chubb's big game in Week 4. Hyde has had 20+ touches in 3/4 of games this season and will continue to get the ball.

This week he gets a tough matchup against the Ravens who have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs. Baltimore has allowed the fourth-fewest rush yards per game (82.5), and have only given up one score to a back all season. Hyde should still get touches, could continue his TD streak, and he can be viewed as an RB2 play.

CLE RB Carlos Hyde - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Oakland Raiders

Carlos Hyde had quite the day last week. He became a father, celebrated his birthday and scored two touchdowns while the Browns won their first game in over a year. He also finished with over 100 scrimmage yards in his best game of the season. Hyde has now scored in every game so far with the Browns.

He gets an interesting matchup against the Raiders this week as Oakland has allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points to opposing backs, but have allowed over 100 yards to the position in the first two games. Hyde should continue to put up similar numbers to what he's done so far and is a solid RB2 play.

CLE RB Carlos Hyde - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. New York Jets

Carlos Hyde scored a touchdown in his second consecutive game. His scores are making up for his lackluster performances on the ground. Hyde is seeing the ball plenty (38 carries) but hasn't done much with his touches (2.7 yards per carry). He's also been mostly a non-factor as a receiver, catching one ball in each game.

He gets a somewhat tough matchup this week against the Jets, who have allowed the eighth-fewest points against RBs this season. We expect more of the same from Hyde in Week 3—around 60 yards and a high chance of a TD. We like him as a lower-end RB2.

CLE RB Carlos Hyde - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at New Orleans Saints

Carlos Hyde got plenty of chances to do damage in Week 1, but he couldn't quite take advantage. Hyde received a healthy 22 carries, which was the third-highest in the league, but he finished with 62 yards (2.8 yards per carry). He also scored a touchdown.

Hyde faces a tough task this week against the Saints who struggled against the pass, but they held Bucs backs to 76 yards on 22 carries. We expect a fairly similar game from Hyde where he should see action but finish with a low yards-per-carry average with a strong chance for a score. He should be viewed as a low-end RB2 or RB3 this week.
