CHI QB Brian Hoyer - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Jacksonville
Brian Hoyer continued his amazing play last week with his third consecutive 300-yard game. He fell just three yards shy of 400, even after losing Kevin White. In addition, Hoyer has had two touchdowns in every start, and still hasn't thrown an interception.

Hoyer will look to continue his dominance this week in a favorable matchup against the Jaguars. Jacksonville has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, although they have held quarterbacks to under 300 yards passing in every game.

Given his success and the matchup, we view Hoyer as a low-end QB1 play this week.

CHI QB Brian Hoyer - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis
Brian Hoyer is turning into a solid fantasy football quarterback. He's posted back-to-back 300-yard games with two touchdowns in each contest with no interceptions. He'll look to continue that success this week against the Colts who are allowing 277 passing yards per game.

Considering the favorable matchup, and Hoyer's previous success, there are plenty of reasons to like him this week. We don't view him as an elite option, but he's a great daily fantasy player because he's cheap, and he's a solid bye-week filler as he's probably available on waivers.

CHI QB Brian Hoyer - Week 4, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Detroit
So Brian Hoyer wasn't too bad of a fantasy option last week. He finished with 317 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He'll look to repeat that success in Week 4 against the Lions, a defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.

There are a lot of other quarterback options that make more sense this week, but Hoyer could be a sneaky play if you need a bye-week filler. He's got a lot of talent around him, and has the chance to put up big numbers against a poor pass defense this week.

CHI QB Brian Hoyer - Week 3, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Dallas
Brian Hoyer will likely get the start this week in place of an injured Jay Cutler. He came in last Monday night and completed 9-of-12 passes for just 78 yards.

Hoyer isn't a terrible quarterback, and he actually did pretty well for Houston last season before getting hurt. He also has good players surrounding him in Chicago to help him out.

But, at the end of the day, this is an average quarterback without a good matchup. There's not a lot to get excited about with Hoyer, and that's why he's a lower-end option at the QB position.

HOU QB Brian Hoyer - Week 18, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 18 vs. Kansas City
Brian Hoyer returned to the Texans lineup last Sunday after missing the previous two games with a concussion. He did a good job of leading his team in the division-winning contest against the Jaguars, throwing for 249 yards and one score. During the regular season, Brian was effective when healthy, completing over 60 percent of his passes with 19 TDs and seven INTs. Way back in Week 1 in the loss to the Chiefs, Hoyer threw for 236 yards with a TD, a pick and was sacked four times. You have to wonder just how far Houston will be around in the playoffs before adding him to your post-season roster.

HOU QB Brian Hoyer - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Jacksonville
After missing the past two games with a concussion, Brian Hoyer will be the Texans QB for the regular season finale. Hoyer threw for 293 yards with three TDs in the Week 6 win at Jacksonville. Even against a poor defense he’s a very shaky start this week, however.

HOU QB Brian Hoyer - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Tennessee
After missing last week’s game in Indy with a concussion, Brian Hoyer practiced this week, but still needs to be cleared to play. He had a good game against the Titans earlier this season, throwing for 235 yards and two TDs, but is a risky play in the rematch.

HOU QB Brian Hoyer - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. New England
Having Brian Hoyer as your fantasy QB may get a few chuckles from your league, but he has been a solid fantasy player since regaining the starting nod. Last Sunday in the loss to the Bills, he threw for 293 yards and three TDs. His lone INT came on the final play of the game. In the past seven contests, Brian has averaged 248 yards while tossing for 15 scores. Hoyer will be facing his former team in the Patriots this week. They are No. 15 versus the pass, making him more of a QB2 play.

HOU QB Brian Hoyer - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Buffalo
In the win over the Saints last Sunday, Brian Hoyer and the Texans offense played keep away from Drew Brees and New Orleans, controlling the clock for over 36 minutes. Hoyer was an efficient 21-of-27 for 205 yards and two TDs. Surprisingly, neither touchdown toss went to DeAndre Hopkins, who had a relatively quiet afternoon. Brian continues to be consistent, as he’s thrown for multiple TDs in six of his past seven outings. The Bills has been susceptible to the pass, but their blitzing D could cause troubles for Hoyer on the road.

HOU QB Brian Hoyer - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. New Orleans
After missing last week’s win over the Jets due to a concussion, Brian Hoyer has been cleared and will be the Texans starting QB on Sunday. He had thrown multiple TD tosses in five straight games before leaving in the second half two weeks ago versus the Bengals. Brian has a good matchup at home against a Saints defense that allows over 290 passing yards per game. Hoyer makes for a low QB1 option on Sunday.
