CHI WR Anthony Miller - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Anthony Miller came out of nowhere last week to finish 9-140 on a team-high 13 targets. Miller has been more involved in recent weeks, averaging over 10 targets in his last three games. He's also finished with at least 50 yards in that stretch. But he has no touchdowns on the season, and Mitch Trubisky has only surpassed 300 yards once all season. Miller's improved, but he won't be anything much more than a WR4 in Week 14 against the Cowboys.

CHI WR Anthony Miller - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Detroit Lions

Anthony Miller had a productive 6-77 last week on nine targets. He's now had six receptions in back-to-back games. But the two games before that, he had a combined seven receiving yards. Miller is a boom-or-bust play whose "boom" isn't that spectacular. He has no touchdowns on the season, and is a poor fantasy option at this point.

CHI WR Anthony Miller - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. New York Giants

Anthony Miller finished 6-54 on a season-high 11 targets last week. Miller has topped 50 receiving yards four times this season, but he's had a combined 35 receiving yards in the six other games he's played in. He also has not scored a touchdown at all this season. Basically he's a boom-or-bust, with his boom being between 50-70 yards.

CHI WR Anthony Miller - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Philadelphia Eagles

Anthony Miller led the Bears in receiving yards last week with 67 off of three receptions. He's now had three straight games with at least 50 receiving yards, so he's becoming a solid part in this offense. It's hard to trust Miller considering the Bears offense has only topped 300 offensive yards once all season. But Miller is far from a terrible choice. Especially this week in a favorable matchup against the Eagles, who are allowing the second-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. Miller should be viewed as a WR4.

CHI WR Anthony Miller - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Anthony Miller has now topped 50 receiving yards in back-to-back games, finishing 4-52 and 5-64, respectively. He's a big-play potential receiver, but so far in his career he's been wildly inconsistent. He and Taylor Gabriel play similar roles, so it's possible one can have a good game while the other does nothing on any given week. For now, Miller isn't a very reliable option in fantasy.

CHI WR Anthony Miller - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Green Bay Packers

Anthony Miller was a second-round pick a year ago and had an interesting season. He didn't blow up, but he finished with 33 receptions for 423 yards. Nothing spectacular, but he made himself valuable by scoring seven times. He's also in line for more work in 2019 as he's listed as a starter on the team's depth chart.

Miller had shoulder surgery this offseason and had an ankle issue in August that held him out of some practices. But he's told reporters he's ready for Week 1 and avoided being listed on the injury report for Week 1.

Miller opens the season in what was a favorable matchup a year ago. Green Bay allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts in 2018. But with other weapons in Chicago, it's hard to see Miller producing too much. He should be viewed as a WR5 at best.

CHI WR Anthony Miller - 2019 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Anthony Miller is an interesting second-year receiver option. He played well as a rookie, leading the Bears in receiving touchdowns (7). There was a seven-game stretch in 2018 where Miller averaged three receptions, 48 yards and 0.5 touchdowns. If we stretch that success out to a full season, it comes out to around 48 receptions and roughly 800 yards. Miller should see an increased role in 2019 as he has another year to develop with Mitch Trubisky and Matt Nagy.

Fantasy Downside
Miller played through multiple injuries last season and underwent shoulder surgery during the offseason. So durability is going to be a question heading into 2019. And while he’s projected as the No. 2 guy in Chicago, there are a lot of receivers on this roster with similar talent. Chicago retained Taylor Gabriel, signed Cordarrelle Patterson in the offseason and drafted Riley Ridley in the fourth round.

2019 Bottom Line
While Miller has talent and could be a second-year breakout candidate, he also carries risk as a player who could provide a dud on any given week. The number of receivers on the roster, not even mentioning Tarik Cohen or Trey Burton, should give a little pause to people wanting to draft Miller. He’s a decent late-round flier in leagues with multiple WR flex options.

CHI WR Anthony Miller - Week 18 Fantasy Football Outlook

Wild Card Playoffs vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Anthony Miller put up a goose egg in the final game of the season, the third time in the last four games he's done so. And if you go back just one more week, he had a one-catch effort. In other words: Miller doesn't have much value. He did manage to score seven times this season, which is impressive, but that's pretty much all he does. If you're feeling like taking a risk then go ahead and hope Miller scores, but three zeroes in four games isn't very promising.

CHI WR Anthony Miller - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Minnesota Vikings

Anthony Miller caught another touchdown last week as he's now scored in seven games this season. But in the three games prior, he had one total reception. He's good at scoring, but that's literally all he's been good for in recent weeks. He's a risky option in a tough matchup against the Vikings in Week 17.

CHI WR Anthony Miller - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Anthony Miller caught one pass for one yard last week ... and it went for a touchdown. Miller's only had one game above 50 yards all season, but he's managed to score in six games. He gets a decent matchup against the Rams in Week 14, but it's hard to trust someone who is so touchdown dependent. We like him as a low-end WR3, closer to a WR4.
