Week 8 at Kansas City
Still perfect on the season, Vinatieri is a weekly starter in 2016. Week 8 is no different, as we rank him inside the top-5 kickers, as he's been all season long.
Week 7 at Tennessee
He's the greatest of all-time. Start him. In his last four games against the Titans, Vinatieri has averaged six scoring opportunities, including an average of two field goals attempted. He's locked in as a top-10 kicker in Week 7.
Week 6 at Houston
We're all witnesses to the GOAT. Since Week 3 of the 2015 season, NFL kickers have missed 182 field goals. Adam Vinatieri hasn’t missed one. Start him and enjoy the show.
Week 5 vs. Chicago
The GOAT hasn't missed a kick this year. Conditions will be perfect inside Lucas Oil Stadium Week 5 to deploy Vinatieri once again as a top-10 kicker option against the Bears.
Week 4 vs. Jacksonville
Arguably the best kicker in NFL history gets to go where his kicking prowess will be met with extra appreciation in London. The game sets up well too for Vinatieri, with a high over/under and the Colts expected to score frequently against the Jaguars. Vinatieri should definitely be a top-10 option this week at Wembley Stadium.
The Colts are favored in a game with an over/under at 52 inside Lucas Oil Stadium. All signs points to Vinatieri being a top kicking option in Week 2 against the Chargers.
Week 2 at Denver
Vinatieri made all five of his kicks (two field goals) against Denver last season, including a 55-yarder. That was inside Lucas Oil Stadium though, and the game script is not projected to be as friendly this time on the road. Vinatieri is not in our top-12 kickers for Week 2.
Week 1 vs. Detroit
Vinatieri started slow in 2015 and missed another kick this preseason, but hey, it's Adam Vinatieri kicking in a dome Week 1. Start him with confidence. The Colts-Lions game has one of the highest projected point totals of the week, and that should trickle down to fantasy points for the kicker.
Fantasy Upside
The future Hall of Famer is as consistent as they come, but like all fantasy kickers, he is a product of his team’s offense. In 2014, that meant finishing as the #3 kicker in fantasy, but without Andrew Luck for nine games in 2015, that meant dropping all the way to the #17 kicker. However, Luck is back and Vinatieri gets 10 dome games on the schedule, including weeks 14 and 15 of the fantasy playoffs.
Fantasy Downside
It’s Adam Vinatieri. Trying to find flaws in him as a kicker would be completely disingenuous. We’re not about to be the first in history to attempt that. Any fantasy downside comes with only external issues, like another injury to Andrew Luck.
Bottom Line
When it comes time to draft a kicker in 2016, keep Vinatieri in mind. He’s on a mission to keep chasing down NFL records after re-signing with the Colts. We have him as a top-12 option for 2016.
Adam Vinatieri - Week 20 vs. New England
Adam Vinatieri made four field goals in the first week of the postseason, but just one last week. He had two attempts, but had just his second miss of the season. Vinatieri is a good kicker and wouldn't be a bad option this week against his former Patriots team.
