Hi Guys,

In the 5 full games he played last season, if my calculations are correct, Kirk Cousins averaged 17.4 pts/game in Standard Scoring, which is about where Eli Manning is projected at QB #8 this year.

I noticed there is little information about Kirk Cousins on the site. Is he projected to beat out Colt McCoy for the back up position? How likely is it he replaces RGIII at some point during the season? If he does start, what are his projected points per game in standard scoring? Is he worth taking a late round flyer on in a 2 QB, 8 Team league?

Thanks for the great work!

He's worth considering in deep leagues, but with McCoy in the mix right now and RG3 still the starter, we aren't suggesting investing a lot in Cousins. We do project him to be the backup, but he may have a short leash. We do have him ranked, which is more than we have for most backup QB's and reflects the shakiness of the situation in Washington, but it's hard to recommend grabbing him over a starter at this point.

There are two things to consider with Cousins. 1) How consistent are his stats? He had one great game, 3 decent games, and 2 really bad games. If you take out his 427 yard 3 TD game against Philly, he really didn't do much at all. 2) How much do you trust Washington's offensive line? RG3 isn't a bad quarterback. He's lower tier, yes, but when you mix lower tier with arguably one of the worst offensive lines in football, it's hard to believe in the quarterback, especially the backup.
