Scouting report

BAL WR Marlon Brown - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 – Marlon Brown vs. Miami
Marlon Brown caught three passes for 25 yards last week against the Chargers, which isn’t going to get it done in fantasy leagues. Brown is a big target who is always a threat around the red zone, but it hasn’t translated into production this season and there’s no reason to expect that to change against the Dolphins’ number two pass defense this week.

BAL WR Marlon Brown - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Marlon Brown vs. San Diego
Marlon Brown had one catch and 14 yards last week against the Saints, and he remains at least the fourth option in the Baltimore passing game behind the two Smiths and tight end Owen Daniels. Brown can go up and get it, but Flacco throws such a fireball, that it’s hard to imagine Brown getting a lot of end zone fades thrown his way in spot duty. Keep him on waivers.

BAL WR Marlon Brown - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 – Marlon Brown vs. New Orleans
Marlon Brown had two catches for 18 yards against the Titans two weeks ago, and he comes back off the bye week to face a struggling New Orleans team that just lost the top spot in the woeful NFC South. Brown is relegated to spot duty behind the starting Smiths in Baltimore, and he’s fighting with Kamar Aiken for snaps in sub packages. Until his role expands, he has limited upside, despite excellent size. Fantasy owners should leave him on waivers for the time being.

BAL WR Marlon Brown - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Marlon Brown vs. Tennessee
Marlon Brown had three catches last week for 27 yards against the Steelers and he’s still fighting for looks with several other would-be-WR3’s in Baltimore. Brown remains a risky fantasy option, despite his considerable size and last year’s red zone prowess, and fantasy owners should leave him on waivers for the time being.

BAL WR Marlon Brown - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Marlon Brown vs. Pittsburgh
Marlon Brown had one catch for two yards last week against Cincinnati and he’s still battling Kamar Aiken and rookie Michael Campanaro for snaps in the offense. Even with Torrey Smith possibly out this week, the chances of Brown emerging as a legit fantasy option seem slim to none. Leave him on waivers.

BAL WR Marlon Brown - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Marlon Brown vs. Cincinnati
Marlon Brown didn’t catch any passes last week, but he got some looks in the red zone and continues to be a modest threat in the red zone, despite a lack of 2014 production. Don’t expect his lack of value to change any time soon however, as the Ravens have a logjam at the WR3 position and Brown has no chance of earning a starting spot over Steve and Torrey Smith. Brown should stay on waivers.

BAL WR Marlon Brown - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 – Marlon Brown vs. Tampa Bay
Marlon Brown made a nice tackle last week on Vernon Davis after an interception, but unfortunately he didn’t make any other kind of impact on the Baltimore offense against the Colts in a losing effort. Brown remains a player with the requisite size to win jump balls and become a red zone target like he was last season, but buried on the depth chart, it’s hard to recommend starting the young receiver, even against the Bucs. Fantasy owners should leave Brown off their rosters.
