Week 15 at Buffalo Bills
The Dolphins clearly had their best performances of the season at home the past two weeks against the Patriots and Broncos. But this warm weather team must now go to Buffalo, where Miami has a bottom six-implied team total in Vegas this week. The Dolphins also haven't scored more than 21 points in any road game this season, and Julius Thomas has been far too inconsistent to consider putting in your lineups at this point.
Week 14 vs. New England Patriots
Julius Thomas has back-to-back double-digit PPR games; however, the Patriots are first in aFPA vs. TEs. The matchup is too risky, and overall on the season, Thomas has been too inconsistent. Don't start him in the fantasy playoffs.
Week 13 vs. Denver Broncos
Miami-Denver has the lowest over/under in Vegas for Week 13, with the Dolphins only expected to score 19 points. The Broncos have been bad against tight ends, allowing the second-most yards and fourth-most touchdowns to the position. Julius Thomas is a streaming option if you are desperate to find somebody this week, but only if you're desperate.
Week 12 at New England Patriots
Julius Thomas came back down to earth last week, after two straight weeks with a touchdown. In this very inefficient Dolphins offense, he is not a viable fantasy starter.
Week 11 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Julius Thomas has seen red zone use over the past two weeks that we have not seen all season, and it has coincided with the Dolphins coming off a reshuffling of the offensive deck after a Week 8 blowout loss to the Ravens and subsequent trading of RB Jay Ajayi. He needed a touchdown last week to be relevant, and that will likely be the case again in Week 11. The Bucs are top 10 in aFPA against TEs; therefore, the matchup is not ideal. Find better streaming options for Week 11.
Week 10 at Carolina Panthers
Julius Thomas emerged from the witness protection program last week for his first fantasy viable game of the season. Don't fall for recency bias, though. The Panthers are top-three in aFPA vs. TEs. You can't start Thomas with confidence.
Week 9 vs. Oakland Raiders
Julius Thomas has not been a fantasy factor all season long, and that likely will not change in Week 9 either. He's not even worth a roster spot on your team.
Week 8 at Baltimore Ravens
Julius Thomas continues to be a non-fantasy factor in this Dolphins offense. Too many other viable tight ends to consider Thomas this season.
Week 7 vs. New York Jets
When Julius Thomas scores a touchdown or cracks 40 yards a few times, we can begin to have the conversation about whether to start him. Don't start him.
Week 6 at Atlanta Falcons
Julius Thomas has been fantasy irrelevant at the tight end position this season, and Week 6 is no different. Don't start him.
