KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at New England Patriots

LeSean McCoy has had a weird season for the Chiefs. He's gone from being their starting rusher to being a healthy scratch to being in a committee with the fourth-string running back. He finished with eight touches last week for 30 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. He'll be splitting touches with Darwin Thompson this week in a brutal matchup against the Patriots who are allowing the fewest fantasy points to running backs. Based on the matchup and the confusion surrounding his touches, McCoy should be seen as a desperation flex play this week.

KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Oakland Raiders

After seeing just six snaps in Week 9 and being a healthy scratch for Week 10, LeSean McCoy bounced back and played in Week 11, finishing with 57 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs' three-headed backfield is a confusing one, but helping to alleviate the confusion is the fact Damien Williams is injured. If he's inactive Sunday, then McCoy becomes a decent flex play in Week 13 against the Raiders. If Damien Williams is active, however, expect a mix of McCoy and the two Williams backs, making all three poor flex options.

KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tennessee Titans

LeSean McCoy had just four touches for nine yards last week as he only played on six snaps. He was actually out-snapped by Darrel Williams, which is the first time that's happened since Damien Williams has been healthy. McCoy's usage should worry fantasy owners and he should be viewed as a desperation flex play this week against the Titans.

KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Minnesota Vikings

LeSean McCoy finished with 63 scrimmage yards last week with a fumble, so definitely not one of his best games this year. The Chiefs have been mixing in McCoy and the Williams's in the backfield, so it's tough for any of them to really have a huge game unless they break a big play. McCoy is clearly the best of the bunch, though, giving him low-end RB2 value. Expect that production this week as McCoy gets a tough matchup against the Vikings, who have allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to running backs.

KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Green Bay Packers

LeSean McCoy ran the ball 12 times for 64 yards last week while catching two passes for 12 yards. He's topped 75 scrimmage yards in four of his seven-game appearances this season. He's been serviceable in fantasy, but far from elite. He should be fine this week facing a favorable Packers defense. Green Bay has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs so far this season. And the Chiefs may lean on McCoy more this week with Mahomes out. He should be a solid flex play in Week 8 vs. Green Bay.

KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Denver Broncos

LeSean McCoy appears to be the lead back in Kansas City right now as Damien Williams is getting phased out of the offense. No other back had more than one carry last week as McCoy ran eight times for 44 yards. He also caught a pair of passes that went nowhere. Expect him to have similar production this week in a decent matchup against the Broncos. He's not getting enough touches to be an elite option, but he's a solid RB3 or flex play.

KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Houston Texans

LeSean McCoy had no carries in Week 5 and had just two targets in the passing game. He finished 2-23 as a receiver, but he then fumbled the ball away on one of his catches. He played 22% of the Chiefs' offensive snaps, which is his lowest percentage of the season. It's hard to know where McCoy stands now in Kansas City's backfield, but he gets a good matchup against Houston to potentially bounce back. He should be viewed as a low-end flex option with some risk.

KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis Colts

LeSean McCoy played well in Week 4, finishing with 89 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. However, backup Darrel Williams did the dirty work as he scored on two short touchdown runs. McCoy likely won't have to worry about Darrel Williams this week, but he will have to worry about Damien Williams who has been a full participant in practice. Williams was the Chiefs' starter heading into 2019 and he should resume that role this week. The two backs were able to share the backfield in Week 1 and 2, so they both should be playable options. McCoy gets a good matchup against the Colts and can be viewed as a solid RB2 option.

KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Detroit Lions

LeSean McCoy's value is contingent on a few things this week. He first needs Damien Williams to be inactive and then he himself needs to be active. Williams sat out last week and is questionable to play this week. McCoy aggravated his injury last week and missed some game time. He did get in a full practice session Thursday, though, so he should be ready to play. McCoy was solid in Week 3, even playing in a limited role, scoring two touchdowns and finishing with 80 scrimmage yards. Assuming Damien Williams sits, McCoy should be a strong RB2 play against the Lions.

KC RB LeSean McCoy - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Baltimore Ravens

Damien Williams has been absent from practice this week, which means LeSean McCoy would be in line for the majority of the backfield touches if Williams sits. That is, if McCoy plays. McCoy is also dealing with an ankle injury and hasn't been officially ruled out or in yet. He should play, but the injury raises some concern on how well he'll play. He dominated in Week 1, rushing 10 times for 81 yards but struggled in Week 2, running 11 times for 23 yards. He also caught three passes for no yards.

If McCoy is able to go, he gets a brutal matchup against the Ravens. Baltimore has allowed the fewest points to opposing backs in 2019 and allowed the third-fewest in 2018. McCoy would be an RB1 most weeks in this position, but with his injury and bad matchup, he's more of an RB2.
