2022 Sony Open Round 3 Betting & Showdown Picks

Russell Henley went 6-under par in his last six holes and posted a 7-under 63 to take a three-shot lead over Haotong Li going into the third round of the Sony Open. With only three other players within six shots of the lead, and no real "high-tier" threats, it is safe to say Henley is making a big push to run away with the tournament. He has gained over four strokes on the field, both with his ball-striking and his putter. First-round leader, Kevin Na, struggled with each passing hole, shooting a 1-over 71 for the round. Eleven players are tied for fifth place at 9-under including Corey Conners, Hideki Matsuyama and Seamus Power. The cut-line landed on 5-under par and sent the likes of Cameron Smith (tournament favorite) and Sunjae Im home early.

With yet another perfect day of weather forecasted for Saturday, if players can stay out the 3" rough, the opportunity is there for someone to shoot a very low number and get right back into the tournament. For now, Russell Henley stands alone as a +150 favorite to win.
