DraftKings Week 4 Cash Game Breakdown
Week 3 served as a fantastic reminder of how we can leverage the rules of a DFS site to our advantage, namely by diversifying across slates. While my default approach to cash games is to play a single lineup, especially if I’m playing primarily head to heads, that doesn’t mean that I only have exposure to nine players all week on DraftKings. In order to get exposure to more players, I will often spread my money across multiple slates -- last week I chose to play the main slate and the Sun-Mon slate, giving me access to players in the Saints/Falcons shootout.
This game selection method lets me roster players in the Monday Night game, but I often have to choose players around those Monday Night plays that I don't have in my main lineup, allowing me to diversify my cash game portfolio even more. Taken a step further, I can weight my bankroll more heavily to the slate of my choice if I have more confidence in one of the lineups. Ultimately, a weekend that looks bleak on Sunday can end up being a profitable endeavor without ever rolling out a suboptimal lineup for the sole purpose of diversifying.
Outside of this game selection tip, I have created a set of DraftKings cash game guidelines which serve as a friendly reminder for what you should be looking for when building your cash game lineups. As always, be sure to take a look at the “Other Players To Consider in Cash” section, as you should never be blindly placing a single lineup into any contest.
QB Brian Hoyer $5,000 vs DET
There’s evidence that matchup is more important for quarterback than any other position in fantasy football, which makes sense as we’re looking for efficiency at the position. 4for4’s first 2016 iteration of Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) came out this week and, through three weeks, there is no better matchup for signal callers than the Lions. Detroit ranks dead last in touchdown rate (9.6%) and fantasy points per attempt (0.74) allowed to opposing quarterbacks, while Chicago is one of just five teams that throws at least 70% of the time in the red zone. If you are looking to pay down at a position, start at quarterback with Hoyer.
