Week 5 vs. Philadelphia
Matt Prater was true on both of his FG attempts last week in Chicago, including connecting from 50-yards out. The Lions have totaled just 56 points the past three contests and will be facing a good Philly defense at home on Sunday.
Week 4 at Chicago
Even though Detroit’s offense sputtered early at Green Bay last week, Matt Prater totaled nine points – booting FGs from 42 and 50 yards, while missing from 43. He’s averaging eight points a game and should have a good scoring outing at Chicago on Sunday.
Week 3 at Green Bay
Matt Prater made his only two field goal attempts last week in the loss to Tennessee. Even though Detroit scored just 15 points, the offense has been moving the ball in the first two games. Prater's opportunities may be a bit limited at Green Bay, however.
Week 2 vs. Tennessee
After missing a costly extra point, Matt Prater redeemed himself by booting through a 43-yard field goal to give the Lions a narrow win at Indy in Week 1. Detroit’s offense was in full-gear in the opener and there’s no reason to think the Tennessee defense will slow them down. Prater is a good kicker open facing the Titans at home.
Week 1 at Indianapolis
Matt Prater is coming off of a good season in which he totaled 102 points, making 22-of-24 field goal attempts. During his career, he has made 76 percent of his attempts from beyond 50 yards. The Lions should be able to move the ball on the road in the opener, making Prater a nice option.
Week 17 at Chicago
In the win over the 49ers last Sunday, Matt Prater booted four short FGs (longest was from 38 yards) and totaled a season-high 14 points. Prater has been in double-figures four times this season, including Week 6 against the Bears when he had his second best game of the season, totaling 13 points.
Week 16 vs. San Francisco
Matt Prater’s perfect field goal season came to an end last Monday in the win over the Saints. Prater had been 17-for-17 before missing from 38 yards out in the closing seconds. The Lions offense has been much better during the past month and Prater should get some good scoring chances at home versus the 49ers.
Week 15 at New Orleans
After averaging 10 points per game the previous three weeks, Matt Prater was called upon for just two extra points last Sunday in St. Louis. He should receive some good scoring chances on Monday in what could be a high scoring affair with the Saints.
Week 14 at St. Louis
Matt Prater continues to be a scoring machine for Detroit, as he’s totaled 30 points the past three weeks. He booted three FGs, including a 51-yarder, in the loss to the Packers last Thursday. The Lions offense has been better, but may take a step back on the road on Sunday.
Week 13 vs. Green Bay
Matt Prater has scored 19 points the past two contests, including nine in the win against the Eagles last week. He has been battling an illness, but should be able to kick on Thursday night.
