WAS QB Kirk Cousins - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. St. Louis
It wasn't a good start to the season for Kirk Cousins in Week 1 after being named the starter. Cousins threw for just 196 yards and a TD, but did throw two interceptions in a loss.

Turnovers have been the issue with Cousins and he proved once again it's something owners are going to have to deal with if they are putting him in fantasy lineups. This week, things don't get much better as Cousins gets the Rams. St. Louis comes in ranked fourth in fantasy points allowed to QBs and you'll find Cousins buried near the very bottom of our QB rankings this week. He's shaping up to be someone to stay away from in Week 2.

WAS QB Kirk Cousins - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Miami
Kirk Cousins is the surprise starting QB for the Redskins over Robert Griffin III as we enter Week 1 and beyond. Cousins has some upside and had a very good camp and preseason, completing about 70-percent of his passes at one point.

Unfortunately for Cousins, Week 1 presents a tough matchup against the Dolphins, who were sixth in allowing fantasy points to QBs in 2014. Cousins, as a result, is ranked way down our list at 30th. It's probably best to stay away in Week 1, but Cousins should at least be a streaming option at times this year, especially in deeper leagues.

WAS QB Kirk Cousins - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 - Cousins vs. Tennessee
Kirk Cousins put up decent fantasy numbers last week but continues to struggles with interceptions. Cousins threw for 354 yards and two TDs but added three more INTs to his total for the season. He has seven INTs his last three games with four coming against the Giants a couple of weeks ago.

This week it's the Titans who rank 18th in allowing fantasy points to QBs, so it's not a bad matchup. But, Cousins ranks as just a QB2 this week on our list. After this week, it's two more tough matchups with Dallas and Minnesota, which are ranked third and second in terms of fantasy points allowed to QBs. Cousins is a risky play, especially if your league gives you negative points for turnovers.

WAS QB Kirk Cousins - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 - Cousins vs. Arizona
Kirk Cousins was a little better from a fantasy perspective last week against the Seahawks. He threw for 283 yards and two TDs in the loss.

The week before against the Giants he struggled with four interceptions and a fumble. This week's matchup on paper is much better, but overall the Cards defense is pretty solid. Arizona only ranks 20th in terms of allowing fantasy points to QBs, much better than the Giants (9th) and Seahawks (8th) the previous two weeks. Still, we don't have a lot of love for Cousins this week, making him a low-end QB who is ranked 20th on our list. The Cards are sixth in allowing fantasy points to RBs so Washington may have to throw a lot in this one.

WAS QB Kirk Cousins - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 - Cousins vs. Seattle
Kirk Cousins is coming off a horrible game against the Giants. He threw for 257 yards and a TD but had four interceptions and a fumble.

This week, it's the start of a pretty touch stretch with Seattle, ranked 5th in allowing fantasy points to QBs. Just a week ago, Cousins looked like the next great QB addition to fantasy teams lighting up the Eagles for over 400 yards. Cousins takes a major hit this week and is ranked 27th on our QB list. It's best to stay away from him and go another direction, but keep an eye on how he plays. Week 6 is at Arizona and Week 7 home against Tennessee. Both are top-six in allowing points to QBs.

WAS QB Kirk Cousins - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 - Cousins vs. NY Giants

Cousins lit up the Philly defense for 427 yards and three touchdowns in a shootout last week. It was a good matchup on paper against the Birds, and this one against the Giants in Week 4 on Thursday night is even better...

This game looked like a tough matchup a few weeks ago but the Giants defense has really struggled lately and now ranks 29th in allowing fantasy points to QBs. Cousins comes in 11th on our list this week and makes for a good option if you're hurting at the position or just suffering through a bye week. Cousins has a lot to work with on offense and showed that last week.

Things get tough next week with the Seahawks, followed by Arizona and Tennessee. But if he holds the job through the end of the season, Cousins' playoff matchups look fantastic.

WAS QB Kirk Cousins - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 - Cousins vs. Philadelphia
Kirk Cousins is thrown into the starting QB role this week after Robert Griffin III dislocated his ankle in Week 2. Looks like Cousins is there for at least the next 6 weeks as RGIII's timetable is 6-8 weeks from what we're hearing.

If you've been following the situation, it's very possible Cousins is the QB for the rest of the year if he plays well enough. While it was "only" the Jags last week, Cousins came on and threw for 250 yards and two TDs in a rout. Many feel Cousins fits Jay Gruden's system better than RGIII, and now it looks like he'll get his chance to prove that.

Things start off pretty well for Cousins with a matchup at Philly against an Eagles defense ranked 28th in allowing fantasy points to QBs. But after this week things get pretty tough on paper with matchups against the Giants (3rd), Seahawks (1st), Cardinals (19th) and Titans (6th).

Cousins is worth owning and even playing this week and at least has QB2 potential, even in more difficult matchups.
