Week 13 vs Dallas
Kirk Cousins continues to play pretty well, especially as of late. Last week,f dc he threw for 302 yards and a TD and now has 16 touchdowns for the year. Since Week 7, Cousins has thrown for 10 TDs compared to just two interceptions in the same span. This week, he takes a bit of a hit in our rankings coming in as a lower-end QB2 option against the Cowboys. Dallas is 11th in allowing fantasy points to QBs so it's not a great matchup. But, Cousins has been pretty good lately and seems to again have a connection with DeSean Jackson, so a couple of big plays can really boost his point totals. Still, he shouldn't be considered more than a QB2 this week.
Week 12 vs. New York Giants
Maybe it was a case of back to reality for Kirk Cousins last week. After a 300-plus yard performance and four TDs in Week 10, he threw for just 207 yards and a TD and added his 10th interception of the season. He also fumbled twice in a loss to Carolina.
This week, Cousins has a favorable matchup against the Giants, who are 24th in allowing fantasy points to the position. As this point, it's anyone's guess as to which Cousins is going to show up for your fantasy team. The odds are a little better this week in a nice matchup, but Cousins is probably more of a QB2 play.
Week 11 at Carolina
After perhaps a career game in Week 10, Kirk Cousins is back to reality a bit this week - at least in our rankings. Cousins came in as a low-end QB1 last week and didn't disappoint throwing for 324 yards and four TDs against the Saints.
This week, it's a bit of a different story as the Cousins and the Skins go up against the Panthers. Carolina is fifth in allowing fantasy points to QBs and have been very solid on defense much of this season. Cousins comes in 27th out of 28 QBs expected to start this week so we think you're better off going another direction.
Week 10 vs New Orleans
Kirk Cousins threw for 217 yards and a TD last week, his 10th of the year. He did throw an interception, his ninth of the year. It's amazing what a good matchup can do. Cousins sees his ranking this week climb all the way up to low-end QB1 status, as the Saints are last in the league in terms of allowing fantasy points to QBs. Last week, the Titans lit up the Saints at home one week after the Giants lit them up on the road, so Cousins will look to continue the trend this week. Cousins' owners can also look for the Skins to get deep threat DeSean Jackson more involved in the offense. Cousins has been up and down this year, but it's a very good matchup to at least consider Cousins as a high-end QB2 option.
Week 9 at New England
Kirk Cousins threw for 317 yards and three TDs back in Week 7 before the Week 8 bye. It was his best game of the year, as he rallied the team to victory over the Bucs. It was also just the third game in which Cousins didn't throw multiple interceptions.
This week, the Skins get the Pats on the road. New England is just 20th in allowing fantasy points to QBs so it's a decent enough matchup for Cousins. He comes in 19th in our QB rankings and gets speedster DeSean Jackson back for this game as well. It's hard to tell if Cousins is over his turnover issues, but may have some potential this week in 2-QB leagues.
Week 7 vs. Tampa Bay
Kirk Cousins threw for 196 yards and a TD last week, but added two more interceptions to his totals. He now has eight in six games. He averaged just 4.56 yards an attempt last week, throwing 43 times. He's ranked last among our QBs this week - even in what is a decent matchup at home against Tampa Bay. With his turnover rate what it is, he's not a good fantasy option.
Week 6 at New York Jets
Kirk Cousins wasn't able to follow up Week 4's solid game with another solid outing last week, as he threw for just 219 yards and a TD and two INTs. His second pick ended up being the game-winning play as the Falcons returned it for a TD in OT.
This week, Cousins faces a very tough matchup against the Jets on the road. Gang Green is second in allowing fantasy points to QBs, and as a result, Cousins comes in second-to-last on our QB list. He has six INTs to five TDs this season and just isn't a very safe option this week.
Week 5 at Atlanta
Kirk Cousins had perhaps his best fantasy day last week, throwing for 290 yards and no INTs before hitting Pierre Garcon for the game-winning TD. He added a rushing TD as well to boost his fantasy totals.
This week Cousins and the Redskins go on the road to Atlanta, and the Falcons are 16th in allowing fantasy points to QBs. Cousins shows up far down our rankingslist and is only a lower-end QB2 option. While he played well against the Eagles, turnovers continue to be a factor for those who play Cousins, and the Falcons defense has been playing well. Cousins is a risky start outside of deeper two-QB leagues.
Week 4 vs Philadelphia
Kirk Cousins was again a turnover machine in Week 3, throwing two more INTs. He did, however, go over 300 yards (316) and also added a TD pass, his third of the year.
This week, Cousins comes in with QB2 value, but that's thanks to his matchup against the Eagles. The Birds are 15th in allowing fantasy points to QBs, but have shown some vulnerability against the pass this year. Last year, Cousins lit up the Eagles for 427 yards and three TDs. While he's capable of decent fantasy numbers in this matchup, you should probably think twice about Cousins even as a second QB if turnovers count against you .
Week 3 vs. New York Giants
Kirk Cousins managed the Redskins to a win in Week 2, mainly by handing off to Matt Jones. Cousins was 23-of-27 for 203 yards and a TD. He didn't turn the ball over, which is something that has plagued him throughout his short career.
Despite that (and with the Skins new-found running tandem of Jones and Alfred Morris), Cousins is way down our QB list this week -- even in a really nice matchup. The Giants are 26th in fantasy points allowed to QBs, but Cousins ranks just 30th on our list. Even in two QB leagues, we're thinking it's best to go with another option. Last year, if you remember, Cousins threw four interceptions in his first start after RG3 went down. He also fumbled in that contest.
