James Starks Week 12 vs. Vikings
James Starks got eight carries in last week's blowout but for only nine yards. He's not a viable fantasy option as anything more than an Eddie Lacy handcuff.
James Starks Week 11 vs. Eagles
James Starks had five carries for 10 yards last week. He doesn't get enough carries to have any fantasy value, just enough to annoy the heck out of Eddie Lacy owners.
James Starks Week 10 vs. Bears
Starks hasn't gotten many touches in the previous two games after nearly splitting time evenly with Eddie Lacy over the previous month. With Lacy on a roll, Starks doesn't have much fantasy value outside of as a handcuff.
James Starks Week 8 vs. Saints
James Starks is the bane of Eddie Lacy owners. Last week, he took seven carries away from Lacy, gaining 36 yards and a touchdown. Starks is dealing with an ankle injury this week, however, which could end the split in carries between the two or at least limit Starks' contribution. New Orleans offers a decent opportunity to score, but Starks' injury will likely limit his contribution.
James Starks Week 7 vs. Panthers
James Starks has played nearly 50 percent of the snaps the past two weeks and has gotten 20 carries, including eight for 31 yards last week. But neither he or Eddie Lacy are contributing much in the passing game, so it's a puzzling mix. Carolina is allowing 5.5 yards per carry this season, so if Starks gets 10 carries, he could be of use as a flex play this week.
James Starks Week 5 vs. Vikings
Seven carries in Week 1, 0 in Week 2, eight in Week 3, 0 in Week 4. You get the idea. Starks is highly erratic in his usage and not worth playing. He's a handcuff.
James Starks Week 4 vs. Bears
After failing to get a carry in Week 2, James Starks got eight last week - three fewer than Eddie Lacy - and produced 38 yards - two more than Lacy. If Lacy doesn't break out of his funk soon, we could see Starks' total rise even more. But I expect Lacy to have a good week against a Chicago run defense that gives up 4.9 yards per carry. Keep Starks out of your lineup - for now.
James Starks Week 3 vs. Lions
Starks didn't get a carry last week and isn't relevant in fantasy football right now.
James Starks Week 2 vs Jets
James Starks was spelling Eddie Lacy at times before Lacy suffered a concussion last week. That added up to seven carries for 37 yards. Unless Lacy has a setback and doesn't go this week, however, Starks isn't work a look.
James Starks, Week 1 vs Seahawks
With Eddie Lacy a full go, James Starks doesn't figure to get more than a random carry here or there this week. He shouldn't be playing, even in the deepest of leagues.
