GB RB James Starks - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Minnesota
When you keep on fumbling, you don't get the ball. Starks has fumbled in four consecutive games and got just three carries for 11 yards last week. Given the importance of this game, don't expect a lot of work out of Starks.

GB RB James Starks - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Arizona
Starks got nine carries last week compared to Eddie Lacy's 11, but he outgained Lacy 50-23. But that clears up little in Green Bay's offense. Though Lacy is dealing with a rib injury, he'll likely still start, with Starks sharing time. You don't need a time share at this time of year, especially against a tough Arizona run defense.

GB RB James Starks - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Oakland
Eddie Lacy was the workhorse last week, getting 24 carries, but Starks made the most of his touches, gaining 71 yards on 11 carries and scoring twice, once on one of his four catches for 32 yards. Lacy is going to get more touches, but Starks will stay in the mix. That said, he won't get enough carries to be more than a flex play this week.

GB RB James Starks - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Dallas
With Eddie Lacy in a limited role after missing curfew, Starks had an opportunity to shine last week. He failed, gaining 15 yards on nine carries. Head coach Mike McCarthy is talking Lacy up this week but it's looking more and more like a time share with Starks in a situation where the team could ride the hot hand. That makes it tough to start either back against Dallas' 18th ranked fantasy RB defense.

GB RB James Starks - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Chicago
Starks struggled last week against Minnesota, managing just 14 yards on eight carries before giving way to Eddie Lacy. Lacy then had his first 100-yard game. That's not the way to hold down a starting job. Look for Starks to move back into a more secondary role this week. And Chicago ranks 12th in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. That's not a winning combination.

GB RB James Starks - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Minnesota
Starks didn't do much on the ground in his first start this season, gaining 42 yards on 15 carries. He did salvage things with his second consecutive six-catch game, adding another 54 yards. Eddie Lacy could be back this week, but Starks will continue to start. Minnesota's run defense is sixth in fantasy football, so unless Starks has another big day catching the ball, he could be in for more of the same. But with Green Bay's receivers bottled up, somebody has to catch the ball. Starks is a decent No. 2 back in PPR leagues.

GB RB James Starks - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Detroit
Starks will get the start over struggling Eddie Lacy this week, though both will get carries (as Lacy owners know too well from dealing with Starks stealing carries). With Lacy dealing with a groin injury last week, Starks had 39 yards on 10 rushes and 83 yards and 1 TD on six catches. Detroit has allowed 11 touchdowns on the ground to opposing running backs, so there's a chance for some big points out of Starks if Lacy doesn't vulture him as he did to Lacy previously. Use Starks as a No. 2 back this week.

GB RB James Starks - Week 9, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Carolina
Starks continues to get just enough carries to make Eddie Lacy next to meaningless in terms of fantasy production ,while typically being a non-factor himself other than a big game here or there. Last week, he managed nine yards on his five carries, just one week after rushing for 100 yards. Ugh. Carolina's run defense is its Achilles' heel, so maybe there's a chance for some good work this week. But probably not for the Packers No. 2 back.

GB RB James Starks - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Denver
Starks was the main man in the Packers backfield last game before the bye, getting 10 carries compared to four for Eddie Lacy. And he did a lot more with those carries, gaining 112 yards and a touchdown, compared to three yards for Lacy. But now Starks is dealing with a hip injury and Lacy's health should be as much of a concern. Denver's run defense isn't nearly as tough as its pass defense, so look for both backs to get plenty of carries, if Starks can go. He should at least be a solid flex play.

GB RB James Starks - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. San Diego
Typically, a back who will get five to 10 carries per game, Starks wouldn't be somebody you'd think about putting in the lineup. But San Diego defense is 30th in the league in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. Starks will have an opportunity to put up some points in this one, even if he only gets eight to 10 carries. He's not a starting option, but flex? Maybe.
