Charles Clay - Week 15 vs. New England Patriots
Charles Clay has been limited in practice all week. But he did make his return against Baltimore last week. He wasn't spectacular as he caught just two-of-three targets for 41 yards. He's a TE2 option this week against New England, assuming he's ready to play again.
Charles Clay - Week 13 vs. New york Jets
Charles Clay (knee) was inactive last week against Denver, but he's expected to make a return in Week 13. He participated in team practice this week and could return against a poor Jets squad. New York has allowed the most touchdowns (12) to tight ends this season, which makes Clay an interesting play, assuming he's healthy.
Before his injury he was starting to become more involved in the offense. He's a solid TE2 option.
Charles Clay - Week 12 vs. Denver Broncos
Charles Clay was limited in practice on Wednesday with a knee injury, but he's expected to play on Sunday. Clay is starting to become more involved in the offense, but it's not benefiting him a whole lot. He's only finished above 50 receiving yards twice this season.
Clay is a borderline TE1 just because the talent pool at the position is so poor. He's likely to finish with something, just not much.
Charles Clay - Week 11 vs. Buffalo Bills
Charles Clay is listed as questionable with a knee injury, but he is likely to play. He's starting to have a bigger role in the offense with eight targets, and nine targets in his last two games, respectively.
He's starting to become a borderline TE1 with the position being so shallow this week. Buffalo isn't a great matchup, but if Clay continues to produce like he has in the last two weeks then he should be a decent option in both PPR and standard formats.
Charles Clay - Week 10 vs. Detroit
Charles Clay had his best game of the season last week, setting a new high for receiving yards (65). He was able to come down with one touchdown and missed out on a couple potential scores. He was targeted eight times in the matchup, tied for the team high.
So far this season we haven't seen a lot of consistency from Clay. In six of his eight games he's finished with 35 yards or less. Until we see last week's production become the norm, he'll continue to be a TE2.
Charles Clay - Week 9 vs. San Diego
After his best game of the season in Week 7, Charles Clay caught one pass for one yard in Week 8. It's the sixth time (out of seven games) Clay has caught 35 yards or less in a game. He's also not a great threat to score.
Not only does he have low production, but he gets a brutal matchup this week against San Diego. He's not worth a look unless you are desperate for a tight end.
Charles Clay - Week 8 vs. Jacksonville
Charles Clay set a season high in yards last week with 58. He also caught his first touchdown of the season. It's nice to see Clay involved again, but he hasn't been a reliable option this year. Unless he becomes more consistent, he's not worth much more than a low TE2.
Charles Clay - Week 7 vs. Chicago
Charles Clay caught three passes for 35 yards on five targets against Green Bay last week. His 35 yards were a new season high for him. That stat should tell you just how poor of a season Clay is having. He still doesn't have a touchdown on the season and he's questionable to play on Sunday with a knee injury. He was limited at practice Thursday. He's not worth a look this week against Chicago.
Charles Clay - Week 6 vs. Green Bay
Charles Clay isn't having a great year. He's currently on pace for a 56-444-0 season. He has less than 35 receiving yards in every game and hasn't caught a touchdown. His only decent game was a seven catch effort against Buffalo, but he was only valuable in PPR formats.
He's a low TE2 option.
Charles Clay - Week 4 vs. Oakland Raiders
Charles Clay has been a disappointment so far this season. After averaging 47 yards per game in 2013, Clay has a season high of only 31 yards. He simply isn't putting up enough production to be considered a good start.
