Todd Downing said Malik Willis is getting first-team practice reps while Ryan Tannehill nurses an ankle injury are valuable, even if Willis doesn’t start Sunday.

Willis was a fantasy goldmine through the preseason, dropping back 71 times for a 318-2-1 stat line, but more importantly, he accrued 159 yards rushing, with 138 of those coming on 11 scrambles. If he gets a full game in Week 8, he would become a very intriguing fantasy option.

Tannehill was in a walking boot after the game last week, but appeared at a recent press conference without the boot and said he was doing his best to play in Week 8. His status is worth monitoring for the rest of the week because if he can't go the rookie Willis would get the nod. Reports said Willis took the first team reps on Wednesday.

Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has a sprained knee and it doesn't look good for Sunday.

Hill reported that Elliott was not out at practice doing rehab during the media portion today as expected. If Zeke can't go, look for Pollard to have an increased workload with Dowdle and Davis perhaps getting some snaps behind him.

Tannehill said he has an ankle sprain but he is improving. He was in a boot after last week's win over the Colts and we reported Tuesday that Tannehill is working toward playing in Week 8. That remains to be seen. Willis would get the call if Tannehill can't go.

As Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill limped away from his postgame press conference with a walking boot on his right foot Sunday afternoon, the physical effects of a hard-fought win against the Indianapolis Colts were evident.

"I know he's one of the toughest guys on the team," center Ben Jones said. "A lot of quarterbacks don't get that role. He's that guy for us. He's a leader. We lay our hat on and we love that guy."

The story went on to say the extent of his injury hasn't been disclosed, but Tannehill said he intends to work his way into playing the next game. Through six games, he has only 1,097 passing yards and six touchdown passes. If you have room on your roster, Willis may be worth a stash now until we learn more about the injury.

DeAndre Hopkins makes his 2022 debut in Week 7, coming off his six-game suspension. Hopkins is expected to be a "full go" on Thursday Night Football.

The debut couldn't have come at a better time, as the Cardinals' receiver room is questionable at best now that they are operating without Marquise Brown, who went down with a foot injury and is expected to miss at least a month. As for Week 7 in particular, Hopkins is likely to receive plenty of volume, but his efficiency without practicing with the team is up for debate. Kyler Murray's 5.8 yards per attempt ranks 36th out of 36 qualifying quarterbacks as the offense has looked stuck in the mud all season.
Robbie Anderson, who was acquired just a few days ago, is expected to be "very limited", if he plays at all.

After second opinion, Cards WR Marquise Brown out indefinitely and at least a month, Kliff Kingsbury said.

Anderson, if he plays, would be very limited in Week 7, leaving the WR duties to Hopkins, Moore, Green and Dortch. Eventually Anderson should be more involved as he gets more comfortable.

Kingsbury said if Robbie Anderson plays Thursday “it will be very limited.”

Kingsbury added he wants Anderson to have a comfort level in his first snaps with Cardinals. With Brown expected out a month, that would leave Hopkins, Moore, Green and Dortch as the primary targets for Thursday night. Hopkins is just returning from his six game suspension.

DeAndre Hopkins wants nothing to do with being on a limited snap count.

The veteran wide receiver is back from his six-game league-mandated suspension, practiced on Tuesday and has made it known he wants to play. A lot. Right away, starting with Thursday night when the Hopkins is eligible to officially return for the Arizona Cardinals against the New Orleans Saints at State Farm Stadium.

"I've always been a guy who's in the game in the fourth quarter, I've never been a receiver to come out or attempt to come out. And I don't see that happening anytime soon," Hopkins said Tuesday, asked if can take the field and play a regular game.

Normally it may be a good idea to wait out the situation as far as putting Hopkins right in your fantasy lineup this week, but with the loss of Hollywood Brown and the offense struggling, Hopkins may get the workload he wants Thursday night. If you waited out the Hopkins suspension and you're dealing with bye issues this week, Hopkins could be just what you needed.
