So some bozo decided to drop Carson Palmer after his performance last week in Buffalo. I play in a 12 team league where Bortles and Carr are my two QBs - only minus 1 for an INT.

I did some analysis and Carr clearly has the better SOS for both ROS and for my leagues' playoffs - and Carr is significantly higher in John's ROS rankings. Therefore, thinking about dropping Bortles instead of Carr. The transaction would take place Sunday morning. You agree with dropping Bortles instead of Carr?

Also, I have $93 out of $100 FAAB remaining; however, I do not want to overpay for Palmer since I'd like to leave as much budget should a big name RB get hurt and I want to blow the budget on his backup. No one in my league has bid more than $7 on a player thus far through the season. What's a good bid to come in with for Palmer keeping all that in mind? Want to bid enough so I have a reasonable shot but not not too much...anything more than $11 seems like it's too rich, but is something like $8 enough? Your guidance is sincerely appreciated!

Palmer is as Gartell describes, but I think he's a better option week-to-week than Bortles right now looking at the way they're producing and the talent in the Arizona offense. I agree with not going higher than $8 also. I think that would be enough, and if it isn't enough, then I don't think it's a necessary enough add for you with the guys that you have. It's worth a bargain price for you, but with two guys you can use each week, I wouldn't break the bank for a modest upgrade.

Thanks Gartell! You've made me rethink this a bit... Might $8 even be too much?

I would be willing to bet that $8 would secure Palmer, less if you believe anyone in your league needs a QB. Palmer will have decent games most often but the offense is somewhat boom or bust as Arians likes to throw it deep often. Palmer is not matchup proof. Home games with favorable matchups are money in the bank with him. Away games with long distance travel and or tough defenses I would use with caution AKA Buffalo. Just remember history repeats itself AKA NFC championship road game VS Carolina where he imploded. and recently Buffalo.
