Colts not opposed to using hot hand at RB
Saturday, November 16, 2013, 4:09pm
Running back Donald Brown has been a steady contributor in recent weeks. Thursday night at Tennessee, he provided more of the same.
But in case you’re wondering – and you likely are – Brown won’t necessarily get the majority of carries moving forward.
The Colts, coach Chuck Pagano said, are going to continue to divide carries between Richardson and Brown they have in most games. That means you should look for Richardson to continue getting the lion’s share of the work.
“I think the way we’re going with those two guys has been productive for both players,” Pagano said. “A guy gets hot, you can always go with the hot hand but I like the way we’re doing things now.”
Brown rushed 14 times for 80 yards and two TDs Thursday night in Tennessee. Trent Richardson got eight carries. But it sounds like the team will at least attempt to give Richardson a chance to get going rather than just giving the bulk of the work to Brown. Like the story said, nothing is really going to change here.
Darrius Heyward-Bey may be sliding down the depth chart

Heyward-Bey had a bad drop in the second quarter and the team appeared to favor Brazill in the second half. Brazill didn't catch a pass, but there's some potential in the Colts' offense if he gets starter's snaps.

Jake Locker officially lost for season
Monday, November 11, 2013, 6:54pm
On Monday, it was announced that Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker will miss the rest of the 2013 season. Locker suffered suffered a Linfranc (foot) injury in the team’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The injury occurred with 7:12 left in the second quarter, when Locker was hit by Jacksonville linebacker Russell Allen at the end of an eight-yard run. He fumbled on the next play and limped to the sideline. Doctors examined him there, and he went to the locker room for X-rays.
“I don’t know exactly how it happened,” Locker said, “but when I got up from that run I could feel it.”
Ryan Fitzpatrick will take over for Locker. He's coming off a relief appearance in which he threw for 2 TDs and ran for another as he tried to bring the Titans back against the Jags. Fitz will mostly offer QB2 value going forward. He will face the Colts in two of the next three weeks with Oakland sandwiched in between. That will be followed by Denver in Week 14 and a tough matchup vs. Arizona in Week 15 and finally the Jags in finals Week 16.

The goal for Colts RB Trent Richardson -- other than having him find his rhythm rushing the ball -- is to find ways to get Richardson involved in the passing game. He had a 24-yard reception in the Nov. 3 game at Houston.
The Colts are trying to get Richardson going since trading for him. He's only averaging 3.0 yards a carry in six games with the Colts this season. As a low-end first round pick in most drafts, Richardson is probably hurting a lot of fantasy seasons up to this point. It's a great matchup this week though.
