Marvin Lewis: A.J. Green's return 'up in the air'

Saturday, October 18, 2014, 9:21am

ESPN - [Full Article]

The Bengals still aren't exactly sure when injured Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Green will be rejoining their ranks, coach Marvin Lewis said Friday afternoon.

After Green's visit to a foot specialist last week in Cincinnati, the hope was that the third-year star wideout would be back after this week. But the possibility exists his return could take a little longer.

Asked Friday about a more defined timetable for Green's return from a big toe injury that kept him out of last week's game and will do the same this Sunday, Lewis simply said "the time is up in the air."

Fantasy Impact:

As we've stated before, the Colts are not a favorable matchup for wide receivers. Mohamed Sanu is a strong WR2, while Brandon Tate is one of our Sneaky Starts with Green out of the lineup.

Giants hoping that RB Rashad Jennings will return in Week 9

Wednesday, October 15, 2014, 12:17pm

NJ.com - [Full Article]

The Giants will try to get their running game back on track Sunday in Dallas without Rashad Jennings.

The Giants starting running back will miss his second consecutive game because of a sprained MCL in his left knee. He suffered the injury two weeks ago against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Giants have a bye week after the Cowboys game. The hope is that Jennings returns the following week when they face the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night.

"I hope so," coach Tom Coughlin said. "I can't tell you that for sure but we hope."

Fantasy Impact:

Andre Williams carried the ball 16 times in a blowout loss to the Eagles in Week 6, so we're expecting at least that many touches against the Cowboys this week. There has been no indication that Jennings' job is in danger -- Williams is probably the better runner, but he simply isn't the weapon in the passing game that Jennings is.

Giovani Bernard injures shoulder but returns

Right shoulder injury for Bengals RB Giovani Bernard.

Fantasy Impact:

Bernard was having a big day, including an 89-yard TD run, before he had to leave with a shoulder injury. However, Bernard eventually returned in the fourth quarter, played right through overtime and is believed to be fine. He's got a nice matchup in Week 7 with the Colts.

Fantasy Impact:

Andre Johnson is active. Johnson practice all week, and hasn’t done much all season, but he’s still a target hog and the Texans may fall behind early in this one. The Colts are a bad matchup for receivers, but the Texans may find themselves in garbage time. As for Foster, we’re expecting his usual workload. He may not reach 23 carries like in Week 5, but he was listed as probable, so the hamstring injury isn’t a big concern. Alfred Blue may see a few extra touches on a short week.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014, 6:37pm

Texans QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (calf, probable) practiced fully Wednesday. Fitzy should be fine to face the Colts on a short week.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014, 6:37pm

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring, probable) practiced fully Wednesday. Foster should be fine to face a leaky Colts rush defense on Thursday night.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014, 6:37pm

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (not injury related) did not practice Wednesday. This just looks like a day off for Hilton on a short week. We fully expect him to play on Thursday night.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014, 6:37pm

Texans WR Andre Johnson (ankle, questionable) did not practice Wednesday. Johnson should be able to play in Week 6, though the Colts have not been a good matchup for opposing wideouts.
