Just spoke to Bengals HC Zac Taylor and asked about the status of QB Joe Burrow tonight. He said “we aren’t ready to reveal a decision just yet and will wait a couple more hours before we make a call.”

It looks like the team is taking this right up until the final moments. We reported earlier today Burrow was trending in the right direction but that's still all we have to go on with about three hours until game time. If Burrow doesn't go, Browning would get the start against the Rams.

QB Joe Burrow is going through a workout this morning. I'm told there's optimism he will play and his status for tonight is trending in the right direction, per sources.

Russini pointed out, however, that Burrow's status is still uncertain for MNF as of now, so owners who need him will want monitor his status until the inactives are announced. The Bengals sit at 0-2 and this is as close to a must-win as they want to get this early in the season. Russini added Burrow is campaigning with the coaching staff and trainers to play. If Burrow can't go, Browning would get the start. If needed, Burrow owners may also be able to grab Matthew Stafford or Baker Mayfield against the Eagles in the other Monday night game if they don't trust Browning.

The Bengals added some insurance Saturday just in case by signing AJ McCarron to their practice squad. Burrow re-aggravated his calf injury from training camp in the Week 2 loss to the Ravens. Burrow missed about a month before returning in time for the season opener. If Burrow can’t go, the Bengals would turn to Jake Browning under center. Certainly a far cry from a fantasy perspective from Burrow, especially against an improved and healthy Rams defense.

The Bengals are signing QB Reid Sinnett to the practice squad. If Joe Burrow can't play Monday night against the Rams, it'd be Sinnett backing up Jake Browning.

Not a good look for Burrow's availability, but it's worth mentioning that the team just lost QB Will Grier off their practice squad (Patriots) yesterday, so this may just be a coincidence.

Indications are Joe Burrow has been feeling better the last two days than he was on Sunday. No injury report today because the Bengals play on Monday. The extra day will surely help.

We have signed G Arlington Hambright to the 53-man roster from the practice squad, signed RB Trey Sermon to the practice squad, and waived T Ryan Hayes.

Sermon was on the Eagles last year and saw plenty of action this summer in preseason games before eventually getting cut. The Colts rode Moss last week as their RB1 as he collected 22 touches and a touchdown. But the team is likely looking for some depth at the position. Jackson didn't have a touch in Week 2 with the return of Moss and Hull remains on IR.

Burrow reinjured his calf in Week 2 and reports say he's still sore as of Monday. The good news is, the Bengals play on Monday night, so there is potentially extra time for Burrow to get back on the field for Week 3. The bad news is it puts owners in a bind heading into the weekend not knowing his status. Browning would get the start if Burrow can't go. The Bengals do host the Rams so it's a potentially favorable matchup at least if owners are forced to start Browning. The Eagles and Bucs also play on Monday night, so it's possible QBs like Baker Mayfield and Matthew Stafford are still on your wire and could serve as last-minute backup plans if Burrow is a late scratch.

Burrow said he feels sore and they’ll wait and see how he feels in a few days. Head coach Zac Taylor did say if the Bengals had another possession that Burrow would have gone back on the field. So like Burrow, we’ll wait and see, but this is already the second calf issue Burrow has had this season going back to training camp and early in the preseason. For the second year in a row, the Bengals start 0-2 and are already behind the 8-ball in the division with losses to the Browns and Ravens.

It's another blow to a struggling Colt running game that didn't get much of a chance to see what Hull could do before he got hurt in Week 1. Jackson wasn't great but could be in line for at least a lot of snaps in Week 2. We've seen reports that Moss could also return this week from an arm injury.
