Sources indicate a potential scenario where Darrelle Revis will cover Wes Welker – not Randy Moss – to take away what the Jets perceive to be the Patriots' No. 1 offensive threat. The Revis-Welker matchup will be driven by down and distance. It's likely that the Jets All-Pro cornerback will have his cracks at both of Tom Brady's top two receivers.
On plays when Revis covers Welker, Antonio Cromartie will shadow Moss on the outside with safety help. There's little chance of the Jets playing "Cover Zero" (i.e. – no safety help) when Cromartie is on Moss, sources said.
