FB John Kuhn will re-sign with the Packers.

Fantasy Impact:

Kuhn's days as a TD vulture are probably over as the Packers prefer to use Eddie Lacy in that role. Kuhn is valuable as a blocker and is an adept receiver out of the backfield.

Eddie Lacy's snaps may rise

ESPN - [Full Article]

The reigning offensive rookie of the year who rushed for a Packers' rookie record 1,178 yards last season, Eddie Lacy will be the workhorse back once again. In fact, he could be on the field even more than he was last season, when he played 60.5 percent of the offensive snaps. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said at last month's scouting combine that he wants Lacy to become a three-down back. Last season, he often gave way to fullback John Kuhn on third down.

Fantasy Impact:

Lacy finished as the #7 RB in his rookie season and did it in essentially 14 games. Removing Week 2 (where he was concussed and only carried the ball once), Lacy averaged 14.9 fantasy points, which is the 6th-best average, just behind Adrian Peterson. He is a great talent and plays in a potent offense that should be even better in 2014 with a (hopefully) healthy Aaron Rodgers under center.

John Kuhn may handle third-down role

Saturday, August 31, 2013, 11:42am

Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel - [Full Article]

Don't be a bit surprised if the slowest runner yet easily the best pass blocker of the group is lined up next to Aaron Rodgers as the Packers' third-down back.

That would be John Kuhn, who performed capably in that role last season and down the stretch in 2010, when the Packers won the Super Bowl.

Fantasy Impact:

Eddie Lacy has been pretty good in pass protections, so don't be surprised if he gets some work in this role as well. His talent may earn him snaps on all downs.

Packers RB Alex Green (concussion, questionable) missed practice all week and is questionable for Week 16. The Packers still believe that he may be available to play in Week 16. If not, look for Ryan Grant and DuJuan Harris to split the RB workload in a nice matchup against the Titans. John Kuhn (not injury related) was removed from the injury report Friday.

Packers RB James Starks (knee, out) missed practice again and has been ruled out for Week 14. HC Mike McCarthy said that Starks would be out "multiple weeks" so look for Alex Green to be the lead back with John Kuhn and the newly-signed Ryan Grant rotating in.
