Glennon on Twitter: HC Mike Munchak wouldn't tell Jake Locker he can't start next year ... Sounds like it will be more of open competition than this year.
Locker looked great when called upon, but was never given the reins as the starter due to Matt Hasselbeck's experience as a 13-year vet.

Mike Munchak said if Matt Hasselbeck is healthy he'll start again Saturday.
Hasselbeck has really fallen since a nice start to the season. He's put up dismal numbers the past few weeks and just isn't a safe option. We'd prefer Jake Locker from a fantasy perspective.

Titans coach Mike Munchak reiterated on Monday that Matt Hasselbeck would be the starter as long as he’s healthy.
The 13th-year pro’s health is a question mark, however, heading into Sunday’s game against the Colts. He suffered a calf injury in the second quarter against the Saints and was unable to finish.
“They both give us a chance to win. I don’t think there’s any doubt,” Munchak said. “We’ve been saying it since Jake came in and showed how well he handled himself. But we have been talking about what Matt has been doing for us all season, and because of an injury now’s not the time to make a change.
“If Matt is not healthy, that is another conversation. But if Matt is healthy and ready to roll, he’ll be the guy.”
“We’re looking at it as if we are in the middle of a playoff run here, and we have to win these three games,” Munchak said. “And if Matt is healthy, then he’ll quarterback us. (But) until you get out there and start moving around and doing some things a quarterback has to do, we’ll know a lot more then.”

Matt Hasselbeck's very happy with what he thinks is a strained left calf rather than an Achilles tendon injury he originally thought he might have after feeling something pop in his leg.
"I'm not in pain. It doesn't hurt that much," Hasselbeck said of what he hopes is just a strain.
"We'll get an MRI on it in the morning and just see how bad it is."

Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck will take it easy the next few days with his injured throwing arm.
By the end of the week, however, the Titans believe their veteran quarterback will be back on the field practicing. Barring complications, they expect he will start Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers at LP Field.
“I think Matt is smart enough to know if he is comfortable in playing,” Coach Mike Munchak said Monday. “You know if you can help the team win, and if he feels there is anything in question, I think he’ll be smart enough to tell us.”
Matt Hasselbeck expected to play this weekend

Tests on Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck’s right elbow revealed no structural damage, according to sources.
Hasselbeck’s availability for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay will be determined by his arm strength and ability to grip the football during practice this week, but indications are he is expected to play.
Jake Locker relieved Hasselbeck to the tune of 140 yards and two touchdowns. Still, the Titans are not ready to play Locker if Hasselbeck is heathy enough to start.

Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck had ice on his throwing hand after the game, likely related to the thumb injury he suffered against Houston two weeks ago.
