Raiders TE David Ausberry (knee, probable) took full practice reps all week and is probable for Week 1. Ausberry was running ahead of Mychal Rivera prior to the injury, so the TE depth chart in Oakland is a bit murky. There is not a lot of fantasy value here, however.

Raiders training camp has claimed its first casualty as tight end David Ausberry, listed at No. 1 on the depth chart, will undergo a “procedure” on an injured knee Wednesday and “he may be out for a little while,” according to coach Dennis Allen. There is no timetable for Ausberry's return, which vaults Mychal Rivera, who started three games last year as a rookie, into the starting role while giving opportunities to Brian Leonhardt and Nick Kasa.
The Raiders' TE position is not a hotbed for fantasy value, but Ausberry's injury is noteworthy nonetheless.

After the free agent addition of James Jones, the Raiders seem to have constructed a very promising group of wide receivers that should make them more explosive. However, in order to take the scheme up another level, the team has to see if they can get something out of the tight end position. That is why eyes are fixed on David Ausberry. The fourth-year man was slated to become the starter in 2013 before a shoulder injury knocked him out for the year. His athletic potential is sky high, but the Raiders can’t unlock it unless he’s on the field.
Mychal Rivera showed some promise last season, so this is a camp battle to watch in deep (or dynasty) formats.

Raiders tight end David Ausberry was making progress with his injured shoulder the last time we saw him catching passes on the side at practice, but the Raiders pulled the plug Monday. They placed him on injured reserve and promoted guard Lamar Mady from the practice squad.
It’s not known whether Ausberry had a setback or the Raiders just decided to go forward.
