The Titans were without top tight end Delanie Walker (hand injury) on Friday in Atlanta, but that didn’t stop the rest of the team’s tight ends from shining.

Tight end Chase Coffman led the Titans with four catches for 58 yards, Phillip Supernaw added three catches for 43 yards and Anthony Fasano had two catches for 13 yards. Combined, the tight ends accounted for nine catches for 114 yards.

“If I was asked a question of what position groups that I thought did a nice job last night, tight ends was one of those,” Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “I thought they were productive. They did a nice job, made some big plays. They blocked effectively at times, they were guilty of a couple of those missed (blocking identifications) that we had offensively, but as a group, they played well.

Chiefs will be releasing TE Anthony Fasano later today, source says.

Fantasy Impact:

The move will open up starter's snaps for Travis Kelce, who didn't get heavy run until Week 11. Kelce played 54% of the snaps from Week 1 to Week 10, averaging 3.8 catches for 49 yards and 0.44 TD in that span. He played 86% from Week 11 on, posting 4.7 receptions for 61 yards and 0.14 TD over the final seven games of the season. The rise in fantasy points wasn’t as dramatic since his touchdowns didn’t increase with his playing time, but that should rectify itself in 2015. He was the #4 TE in both standard and PPR formats in the final seven weeks of the season and is likely to go in the top 5 at his position in 2015 fantasy drafts.

Broncos TE Julius Thomas (ankle, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 14. Per the Denver Post, Thomas “ran pass routes during the open viewing session, more activity than he had shown earlier in the week.” But there is “no guarantee” that he returns this week, so owners should get a Plan B ready since the Broncos play in the late round of games. Scott Chandler, Tony Moeaki, Anthony Fasano, Vernon Davis, Mychal Rivera, Tim Wright, Brent Celek, Levine Toiolo or either of the Green Bay tight ends play at the same time as (or later than) Thomas.
