David Wilson likely headed to IR

With running back Andre Brown due to return at 4 p.m. today from the short-term injured reserve list, the likely roster move to free a space will be running back David Wilson heading to injured reserve, according to multiple people briefed on the matter.

Wilson, the team's 2012 first-round pick, injured his neck against the Eagles back on Oct. 6 and has not returned to action since.

A follow-up MRI earlier this week revealed significant progress, but he was not green lit by the training staff to return. The area of concern still lies around the herniated disc as it pertains to a case of spinal stenosis, a chronic injury that Wilson was diagnosed with following a trip to a specialist after the initial injury.

Fantasy Impact:

Wilson is droppable at this point. We feel Andre Brown has the most upside in the Giants' backfield, but Peyton Hillis is expected to get the start in Week 10 as the team eases Brown back into the fold.
